Kathlyn McGuill received an Excellent Rating State

Kathlyn McGuill Kathlyn McGuill The UIL Texas State Solo and Ensemble Competition was held this year at Hendrickson High School on Monday, May 31st. Lexington graduate, Kathlyn McGuill participated in the event. She had received a Superior Rating on her Class I Solo in March at Regionals to earn the honor of advancing to the highest level attainable in this field by attending the state competition.

At State, she was awarded a Commerative 100th Year UIL Anniversary Silver Medal. This is the only time in the history of Lexington High School that a student has competed vocally at State Solo Contest.

Kathlyn was the first to take a vocal solo to Regional Competition last year and received a superior rating then also. She is the daughter of Grady and Ruby McGuill of Lexington.
