Five Sentenced in District Court

Five people were handed down sentences in the 21st Judicial District Court of Lee County on June 8, 2010. The Honorable Reva Towslee-Corbett presided over the Court.

Trevonte Lamar Howard, 18 of Giddings, was handed down two sentences. He was sentenced with Possession of a Controlled Substance – Cocaine, less than 1 gram, in a Drug-Free Zone. For this, his original sentence was revoked and he was sentenced to four years confinement in a state jail facility and assessed all costs previously charged plus $400 more for his Court Appointed Attorney on revocation matters, concurrent with another Lee County case. He was also found guilty of Criminal Mischief - $1500 to $20,000 and was sentenced to 12 months confinement in a state jail facility after his original sentence was revoked. Again, he was ordered to pay all costs previously assessed, plus $400 for his Court Appointed Attorney.

Clifton Jermaine Bradshaw, 21 of Giddings, was sentenced to two years confinement in a TDCJ facility for Assault Causing Bodily Injury with one prior conviction. He was ordered to pay $304 court costs, $400 for a Court Appointed Attorney, a $34 DNA testing fee and a $50 Bluebonnet Area Crime Stoppers fee.

Ramon Louix Rhodes, 52 of Lexington, was sentenced to 180 days confinement in the Lee County Law Enforcement Center for Harassment. He was ordered to pay a $750 fine, a $50 Bluebonnet Area Crime Stopper fee, $304 in court costs and $400 for his Court Appointed Attorney. He was also ordered to serve 100 hours community service restitution and pay a $34 DNA testing fee.

Terry Roy Roemer, 52 of Burton, was sentenced for two charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance – Cocaine, 1-4 grams, as a repeat felony offender. In the first charge, he was sentenced to six years confinement in a TDCJ facility, probated six years, and was ordered to pay a $2,000 fine, $304 court costs, $50 Bluebonnet Area Crime Stopper fee, $140 restitution, $34 DNA testing fee, and a $60 drug court fee. He agreed to forfeit his 2009 Dodge Ram pickup truck. In the second charge, Roemer was sentenced six years confinement in a TDCJ facility, probated six years, and was ordered to pay $304 court costs, $140 restitution, $50 Bluebonnet Area Crime Stopper fee, a $60 drug court fee and a $34 DNA testing fee. Both sentences run concurrent with another case in Lee County. Darius Eugene Florence, 19 Tyler, was sentenced to five years confinement in a TDCJ facility, probated three years for Harassment by Person in Certain Correctional Facility. He was ordered to pay a $1,250 fine, $304 in court costs, $400 for his Court Appointed Attorney, a $50 Bluebonnet Area Crime Stopper fee and ordered to perform 100 hours community service restitution.
