Colorado Valley Quilt Guild

Did you ever wonder, “How Did This Happen to Me”? The June guest speaker at the Colorado Valley Quilt Guild in La Grange, TX, not only asked, she wrote a book about it. Spike Gillespie, a resident of Austin, TX, is an accomplished author, journalist, magazine writer, avid knitter, novice quilter, and entertaining speaker. Among her books are the aforementioned

How Did This Happen to Me?” as well as “Quilty as Charged: Undercover in a Material World” and “Quilting Art: Inspiration, Ideas, and Innovative Works from 20 Contemporary Quilters”. If that isn’t saying enough, she is now in the final process of her next quilt book, “Quilts Around the World.”

Members and guests for the June Guild meeting are in for a very interesting and entertaining evening at the meeting to be held June 22, at 7:00 p.m. at the 1st United Methodist Church, 1215 Von Minden Rd., La Grange, TX. The Colorado Valley Quilt Guild is open to anyone interested in the art and hobby of quilting in all it’s varied forms. Each meeting showcases a number of wonderful quilts made by members during the “show and tell” period. Guests are always welcome.
