It makes Lexington’s baseball district look real good when Rogers makes it to the state tourney. The district will be especially tough when Thorndale moves into the district and they are in the state tourney in Class A.
I sure hope Giddings, Rogers, and Thorndale win the state tourney in baseball. It will fulfill the dreams of a lot of players and coaches. A second place finish is good but not what any of the teams at state want, though.
The seven on seven football tourneys and qualifying is going on full steam as the skill players try to get better for the fall.
I will have to miss part of the state baseball tourney to help move our daughter and her family back to Texas. Hopefully they are back in Texas for good. WalMart just doesn’t seem like the right place for the national championship trophy to be displayed does it?
I watched most of a T-ball season without much toodoo. The All-Star competition is something else though. The parents seem like it is their family name at stake in some cases. The little ones are trying their best, but the parents and others can’t seem to keep from hollering at their chosen one to do this and that, like they were the only ones on the field. Coaches question umps in a game for 5, 6, and 7 year olds? Rules questions? Equipment questions? It is a game, after all, for the kids, not parents and grandparents.
