Relay For Life Prepares For June

How Much Can Lee County Raise in 3 Weeks?

2010 is the 10th year that Lee County has hosted a Relay For Life event to benefit the American Cancer Society. We have set a goal of raising $125,000 to mark this anniversary and as of May 19th we have collected just over $30,000. Can Lee County residents help us raise the last $95,000 to reach our goal? I will dye my hair purple for a year if we do!

The Relay For Life of Lee County will be held on June 11&12, 2010 at the Lexington High School Stadium. Opening ceremonies are at 7pm and closing ceremonies will be on Saturday morning at 7am. Please help spread the word: We want more teams and participants, however if you have co-workers, friends, or family members who do not want to be on a team (or don’t want to walk the track) invite them to come out anyway. Let everyone know they can come be part of the ceremonies anyway, tell them to bring a lawn chair or come sit in the bleachers to cheer on the survivors, cheer on the participants, and help support the on-site fundraisers. There will be plenty to eat, several teams will still be selling raffle tickets, and we will have a silent auction at the event.
