Elsie H. Mitschke June6,1920- May16,2010 Elsie H. Mitschke June6,1920- May16,2010 Funeral services for Elsie Mitschke, 89 of Northrup, are scheduled for 10 a.m. on Wednesday, May 19, 2010 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Serbin, with Rev. John Schmidt officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Elsie passed away on Sunday, May 16, 2010 at St. David’s Hospital in Austin.

Elsie Hildegard Noack Mitschke was born on June 6, 1920 at Serbin, Texas to Herman & Flora (Driessner) Noack. She was baptized on June 27, 1920 by Rev. Alfred Bohot at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Serbin and confirmed there as well on March 25, 1934 by Rev. Herman Schmidt. Elsie was united in marriage to Isidor Mitschke on October 23, 1938 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Serbin by Rev. Herman Schmidt. Their marriage was blessed with three children, Alice, Paul & Calvin. Elsie was an active and lifelong member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Serbin where she served in the Ladies Aid for over 45 years. She also served as a volunteer at the nursing homes in Giddings where she would deliver the cassette tapes of the church services to the residents. Elsie enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing and working outside. She especially enjoyed taking care of her flowers.

Elsie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband and her sisters and brothers, Minnie, Tilda, Gerhard, Johnny, Clara, Ervin and Harold.

She is survived by her three children and their spouses, Alice & Glenn Luedke of Northrup, Paul & Evelyn Mitschke of Giddings and Calvin & Ina Mitschke of Northrup; six grandchildren, Dena Kuhlmann of Northrup, Dane Luedke of Northrup, Brian & Becca Mitschke of Giddings, Stacie Mitschke of Austin but currently serving in Afghanistan, Sharon & Shane Hoffman of Northrup and Mike Mitschke of Northrup; five great grandchildren, Sommer Kuhlmann of Giddings, Caleb Kuhlmann of Tomball, Allan Mitschke of Giddings, Destanie Mitschke of Giddings and Nia Mitschke of Giddings; sister-in-law, Edna Noack of Serbin; special friend, Minnie Mae Schulze of Serbin as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Serving as pallbearers will be Brian Mitschke, Dane Luedke, Caleb Kuhlmann, Gene Noack, Alfred Schulze & Walter Noack. Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Mitschke, Allan Mitschke and Shane Hoffman.

Memorials may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church in Serbin or to the charity of one’s choice.
