Giddings Library News Corner

The Giddings Public Library has recently received six quilting books in memory of Ramona McPhail. 501 Quilt Blocks is a treasury of patterns for patchwork and appliqué published by Better Homes and Gardens. Lone Stars: A Legacy Of Texas Quilts 1836- 1936, covers over sixty of the finest quilts from Texas during the hundred year era. Better Homes And Gardens American Patchwork And Quilting contains plans and instructions for more than 200 projects. Three other quilting books are America’s Glorious Quilts, Quilts From Colonial To Contemporary, and Singer Quilt Projects By Machine.

Storm Cycle by Iris and Roy Johansen is a novel of a dangerous web of deceit and murder. Tempt Me At Twilight is an historical romance by Lisa Kleypas. Locked In by Marcia Muller is a Sharon McCone mystery in which she is shot and almost dies.

13 ½ by Nevada Barr is a murder mystery set mostly in New Orleans. Special investigator J. P. Beaumont and Sheriff Joanna Brady are involved in trying to solve a series of murders of young women in the novel, Fire And Ice by J. A. Jance. Murder She Wrote A Fatal Feast by Jessica Fletcher is the latest in the best selling series of trouble in Cabot Cove where Jessica is busy cooking up a Thanksgiving dinner and trying to solve a murder. Some other new books are Guardian Of Lies by Steve Martini, The Paris Vendetta by Steve Berry, and The Price Of Malice by Archer Mayor.
