Sheriff ’s Report
Phillips & Luckey requested a funeral escort from the Knobb’s Spring Baptist Church. Deputy Lapham and Deputy Carvin assisted.
A resident reported that two suspicious men got dropped off on Hwy 77 and went under the bridge. Deputy Carvin and Deputy Lapham were dispatched and searched the area.
A tan van was pulled over on the side of the road on Hwy 77 just south of the Middle Yegua Creek Bridge. The caller was concerned about the driver. Deputy Lapham located the vehicle and spoke to the driver who advised they had a flat tire but had help on the way.
Deputy Robertson was dispatched to Deer Valley Drive to check on a male subject reported to be walking down the road and appeared to be intoxicated. The caller was concerned because the man was near a school bus stop. The area was searched but the subject had left the area.
The Sheriff’s Office received an alarm call at a local business on Hwy 290. Deputy Robertson checked the building and reported to dispatch that everything appeared secure. The owner was notified.
Dispatch received numerous 9- 1-1 calls regarding a vehicle accident on Hwy 21 approx ½ mile east of Hwy 77. A driver reported that he had hit a horse that was on the road and while speaking to the Sheriff’s Office reported that other vehicles had struck the same horse. Deputy Durrenberger, Deputy Ray and Deputy Easley assisted DPS with traffic control.

A caller reported cows out on CR 318. Deputy Carvin was dispatched and was able to get the cattle off the roadway. It is unknown who the owner is.
Chief Deputy Kothmann searched for a black sports car that was reported as weaving all over the road on Hwy 21 East heading westbound. The vehicle was nearing Burleson County so they were notified of the call also.
Captain Gonzales spoke to a complainant at the Sheriff’s Office regarding identity theft. A report was made and investigation continues on this case.
A motorist reported two large bulls out on Hwy 77 North. Deputy Easley was dispatched and ran the bulls off into a pasture.
April 28, 2010
Elgin Police Department notified Lee County that one of their units was behind a vehicle that was not stopping for them. The vehicle was headed eastbound on Hwy 290. Deputy Aderhold was advised of the information. Bastrop County was able to stop the vehicle just east of McDade.
Deputy York assisted B&M ambulance at a call on CR 114. A caller reported that her son overdosed on his medication and was semi-conscious. The subject was transported to the hospital.
The Sheriff’s Office received numerous 9-1-1 calls regarding a one vehicle rollover accident on Hwy 290 West. Chief Deputy Kothmann, Deputy York and Deputy Carvin were dispatched to assist. The driver was reported to be out of the vehicle and walking around. Deputy Carvin worked the accident.
Deputy Robertson was dispatched to CR 213 to check on a gas leak. The property owner called and advised that he had accidentally plowed over a gas line. South Lee County Fire Dept. responded along with the gas company.
A complainant called and reported that his vehicle was burglarized and he believes that his wife did it. Chief Deputy Kothmann spoke to the subject and advised him that this would be a civil matter between him and his wife.
The Crisis Center received a call at 3am from a female who was feeling depressed and had threatened to drive her vehicle off a bridge. They have been trying to get in contact with her since she called and have not been able to. Deputy Robertson and Deputy Easley did a welfare concern and advised that she was fine and her husband was with her.
A complainant spoke to Deputy Easley regarding a fight at Vadie’s Bar on Hwy 290 East. An information report was taken and investigation continues on this case.
April 29, 2010
A motorist reported cows out on FM 1624 on the southeast side of the Yegua Bridge. Deputy Aderhold was dispatched.
Dispatch received a 9-1-1 call from a female reporting that she had gotten into a fight with her boyfriend and was out in a wooded area and needed help. Deputy Crockett and Deputy Carvin were dispatched and Lexington EMS responded. The subject was transported to the hospital to get checked out.
Prosperity Bank in Dime Box called and reported that an employee had located a small child. No adult was around. They took the child inside the bank for safety reasons. Chief Deputy Kothmann was dispatched to the bank. He was able to locate the child’s parent.
A caller reported that she had stopped by her brother’s house to check on him and she believes he is deceased. Chief Deputy Kothmann and Deputy York were dispatched. Justice of the Peace Donita Smith was notified along with Phillips & Luckey.
Deputy Carvin was dispatched to a local business after they called and reported that some items had been stolen. A report was made and investigation continues on this case.
Deputy Robertson assisted the manager of the Westwood Villa Apartments as he escorted her to a unit to advise them to turn their music down.
A complainant advised that her ex-boyfriend dropped off their son and became angry with her and started cursing at her. She asked him to quit using profanity in front of their son and he picked up a cup and threw it at her and struck her in her mouth. A report was taken and charges are pending at this time.
April 30, 2010
A caller reported that he went to repossess a vehicle from a residence on Hwy 77 North and the owner of the vehicle started chasing him down the road and threatening to shoot him. Deputy Easley and Deputy Aderhold responded and charges were filed.
A concerned citizen reported that there was a vehicle with the trunk opened at the front door of the bowling alley. Deputy Aderhold was dispatched and he reported that it was the paper delivery guy and he had a flat tire.
Deputy Ray responded to CR 309 after a caller reported that she is at her ex-husband’s house to pick up her children for visitation and he is refusing to allow her to have them. Caller was advised that this was a civil matter but Deputy Ray spoke to the father he advised he would have them ready in approx 30 minutes and then she could take them.
Deputy Durrenberger and Deputy Aderhold were notified of two suspicious vehicles on FM 180 at a residence. Vehicles were gone upon their arrival. A close patrol of the area is in effect.
May 1, 2010
While on routine patrol Deputy Aderhold checked a local business and found two doors left open. The owner was notified.
A caller reported that a vehicle down on CR 133 appeared to have been in a wreck. They stopped but no one was around. Deputy Crockett and Trooper Early were notified. The vehicle had struck a fence and parts belonging to the vehicle were around the area.
Deputy Carvin was dispatched to the bowling alley to speak to the owners regarding illegal dumping. The neighbors had dumped a wooden shelf and drove off. When the deputy knocked on the door no one answered so he placed the wooden shelf on their porch.
While Deputy York was patrolling he noticed a vehicle broken down on Hwy 77 @ CR 405. A wrecker showed up and offered to tow the vehicle to TXDOT.
Deputy Durrenberger was dispatched to put up donkeys on Hwy 21 just west of CR 338.
A caller reported a suspicious vehicle at Brown Engineering. Deputy Durrenberger was dispatched and advised that the keys were still in the ignition but no one was around.
A complainant reported that somebody was trespassing on his property and fishing on CR 216. Deputy Ray was dispatched but upon arrival advised the subjects had left already.
Lee County Dispatcher received approx 11 9-1-1 calls from a phone at Westwood Villa Apartments. Deputy Ray and Deputy Durrenberger responded and spoke to a parent and advised that just because the cell phone had no service, it is still able to dial 9- 1-1 for an emergency. The phone was taken from the child and put away.
Deputy Ray, Deputy Durrenberger and Deputy Aderhold were dispatched to a disturbance on FM 141. One subject was arrested for assault family violence and booked into Lee County Jail.
May 2, 2010
A renter at Westwood Villa reported that someone keeps knocking on her door and it is 3am and she is afraid to answer the door. Deputy Aderhold and Deputy Ray were dispatched and observed the area for a while.
Deputy Lapham assisted with a civil standby on W CR E. A subject needed her belongings but was afraid to go out to the property. Deputy Lapham was able to retrieve all of her clothes.
A caller reported that she had an alarm going off at her house. Deputy Lapham was dispatched to FM 696 West. The alarm was coming from her phone. Everything was okay.
Deputy Lapham was dispatched to a family disturbance on FM 3403. The caller stated that her husband had torn her shirt and had locked her and the kids out of the house. One subject was arrested for assault.
A caller reported a one vehicle rollover accident on Hwy 21 near CR 338. The caller stated that no one was around the vehicle. Deputy Durrenberger and Deputy Ray assisted at the scene and waited for a Fayette County Trooper to respond. Deputy Ray located the driver and took him back to the scene. EMS was called to the scene.
Several motorists reported a man riding his bike into oncoming traffic on Hwy 21. One caller reported that he was swinging something in the air like a chain or some type of rope. Deputy Aderhold located the subject and gave him a courtesy ride to the Country Inn Motel.
