Giddings Police Report

April 26, 2010

At approximately 2:45 a.m., Sgt Ray and Officers Hernandez and Carvin were dispatched to 2050 E. Austin, What-a-Burger parking lot in reference to verbal disturbance. Upon arrival Barry Watson of Houston, David Franklin of Houston, Dustin Franklin of Houston were found to be in possession of alcohol in a motor vehicle. Watson and David Franklin were issued citations for Open Container in Motor vehicle and Dustin Franklin was issued a citation for Minor in Consumption of Alcohol. A minor female was taken to the police department to wait for a family member to pick her up due to her being underage.

April 26, 2010

At approximately 8:20 a.m., the Giddings Police Department received a report that a trailer had been struck at 1370 E. Hempstead. The owner indicated that the trailer had been parked in front of his residence since 1:30 p.m. on 4/24/10 and that he did not notice the damage until 4/26/10 at approximately 8:00 a.m. The incident is under investigation.

April 26, 2010

At 12:04 am, Officer Carvin was dispatched to McDonalds’s restaurant located at 2146 E. Austin in reference to criminal mischief. Upon arrival, she met with employee Ester Liscano who advised that sometime between 9:00 pm and 10:00 pm someone entered the men’s bathroom and wrote on the urinal and the ceiling with permanent marker. Photographs were taken of the writings. Case active and under investigation.

April 27, 2010 At 9:33 am, Giddings police officers responded to a Burglary in progress at the sunrise Apartments. Witnesses reported seeing two subjects exit the apartment and flee from the area. The case is currently under investigation.

At approximately 1:00 pm the Giddings Police Department received a report of a Terroristic Threat. The report was unfounded, but a Criminal Trespass Notice was issued to the subject indicated by the complainant.

April 27, 2010

At 7:42 pm Sgt Ramirez conducted a traffic stop on a tan 2010 Ford F-350 pickup truck at the 100 block of East Houston St. for driver not being secured by a safety belt. The driver provided a false name and date of birth and address. The driver was later identified as Carl Wayne Davis, Jr. Davis provided a verbal consent to search his vehicle. Five pills were located inside a clear plastic cigarette pack. Davis was placed under arrest for Fail to Identify – False Information, and two counts of Possession of Dangerous Drugs. Davis was transported to the Lee County sheriff’s Department Jail for process and released to the jail staff. The pills were place into evidence.

April 28, 2010

At approximately 7:20 pm Officer Griffin initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle for a traffic violation occurring in approximately the 1800 block of E. Austin. The driver, Victor Fritz Alaminski of Ledbetter, was placed under arrest for Driving While Intoxicated-2nd, Possession of Marijuana and Driving While License invalid/ Suspended and taken to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office and released.

April 29, 2010

While on routine patrol at 10:02 pm, Sgt Ray and Officer Hernandez attempted to stop a vehicle for a traffic violation in the 1200 block of W. Austin. The vehicle being driven by Roberto Rodriguez of Giddings evaded police. Units terminated pursuit at Hwy 290 W and the Lee County line. Officers returned to the city and were notified by dispatch that the vehicle had turned around and was driving back to Giddings. Officer Hernandez and Sgt. Ray spotted the vehicle traveling eastbound on Hwy 290 W and attempted to catch up to the vehicle. The vehicle was then involved in a collision in the 300 blk of W. Austin. Sgt. Ramirez, along with Lee County Deputies assisted at the scene of the collision. The driver and passenger were transported to St. Mark’s Hospital in La Grange with non life threatening injuries. Charges pending.

April 30, 2010

At 8:07 pm, Officer Griffin initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 1900 blk of E. Austin. The driver, Delecia Lynn Garvin of Houston, was placed under arrest for Driving While License Invalid/Suspended and taken to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office and released.

May 1, 2010

At 1:35 am, Officer Griffin initiated a traffic stop in the 3200 blk of E. Austin. The driver, Garrett Jerrod Sanders of Austin, was placed under arrest for Driving While Intoxicated and taken to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office.

May 1, 2010

At approximately 7:20 pm, Officer Griffin initiated a traffic stop in the 4200 block of E. Austin. The driver, Gregory Hamilton Deblieux of Austin, was placed under arrest for Driving While License Invalid/ Suspended and taken to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office and released.

At approximately 9:55 pm, Officer Griffin initiated a traffic stop in the 100 blk of Sandridge. The driver, Marsha Gonzalez Garcia of Giddings was placed under arrest for Driving While License Invalid/Suspended and taken to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office and released.

May 2, 2010

At 2:06 am, Sgt Ramirez and Officer Cummings checked on a white 2001 Nissan Altima occupied by a male subject identified as Robert Tolkmitt. He was parked at the 400 block of south Main in front of Maass Butane Gas Company. Tolkmitt was arrested for driving while intoxicated 2nd and transported to the Lee County Sheriff’s Department Jail for process.

May 2, 2010

At 4:21 am, Officer Griffin responded to a Reckless Driver call-for-service originating from the Hwy 290 and Hwy 77 intersection. The caller provided a vehicle description and direction of travel and the vehicle was located while running the red light at the Giddings Plaza entrance/exit. The driver, Juan Manuel Moreno-Moreno of Austin, was placed under arrest for Driving While Intoxicated and No Driver’s License and taken to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office and released.

May 2, 2010

At 8:01 pm, Officer Cummings was dispatched to 400 Rolling Oaks Drive in reference to a report of Criminal Mischief to an automobile. Romona Doggett reported that her headlight had been damaged. Case inactive.
