Lexington fell behind early as LV’s lead off hitter scored. A single, a stolen base, and a passed ball put the runner at third. A ground out to shortstop got the runner across the plate. After Lexington went scoreless in the bottom of the first inning, LV put three more runs on the board in the second on three hits, an errant throw that went into the dugout giving runners an extra base, and a hit batter.
Lexington scored in the second inning when Casey Iselt led off with a triple. Jacob Carr walked and started to second. Carr went to steal second. He got caught in a run down. Carr was able to get out of the play by dodging the tag on his way back to first. On the second try he got to second, but Iselt was caught a bit too far off third. After all the excitement, Carr eventually scored on a passed ball and a wild pitch for the Eagles first run.
Lexington’s second run came in the third. Dylan Iselt led off with a single. He stole second and scored on a Josh O’Conner single for the second run.
