Lexington Log Cabins News
This year’s exhibit during Homecoming covers the early schools of Lee County. Portions of the exhibit will be in the Roddy- Fowler cabin and the Heritage Center, facing 4th Street.
One of the more interesting school related items is the cornerstone from the old red brick school house where many of us spent or at least began our school days. The cornerstone is on loan from Ricki and Jimmy Hooper. It will be on display in the Heritage Center along with our partial collection of yearbooks dating back to 1939. In that vein, if anyone has old yearbooks they would like to add to the collection, we would be happy to have them. We are trying to get a complete set of the yearbooks.
The annual Membership Meeting of the Lexington Log Cabins and Heritage Center will be held on Sunday, May 2, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in the Heritage Center.
Come out and join us for an update on the activities and plans for the Log Cabins. Be sure to renew your annual membership. It is just $7.50 for an individual or $12.50 for a family membership.
