Giddings Police Report

April 5, 2010

While on routine patrol, Officer Lehmann was dispatched to 165 W. Austin at 7:51 a.m. for a burglary of a motor vehicle. A Combined Community Action vehicle had been broken into and a TomTom GPS had been taken.

April 5, 2010

At 12:04 p.m., Officer Spencer was dispatched to meet a complainant in the lobby of the Police Department in reference to burglary of a motor vehicle. Heather Smith reported that she noticed that her GPS system was missing from her vehicle that had been parked in her driveway in the 200 blk of W. Richmond. The case is currently under investigation.

April 5, 2010

While on routine patrol, Officer Lehmann and Officer Spencer met with complainant at the Police Department for an assault that occurred in the 400 block of South Polk. Investigation is ongoing.

April 5, 2010

Officer Hernandez and Sgt. Ray were dispatched to the 500 blk of E. Boundary, Brownwood Apartment complex to investigate a leaving the scene collision at the Wal-Mart parking lot. Artemio Segundo Tello stated he was struck by another vehicle inside the Wal-Mart parking lot as he was leaving. Jose Angel Limon was identified as the other driver. Both parties exchanged information. Tello did not wish to pursue charges.

April 6, 2010

While on routine patrol, Officer Lehmann was dispatched to 1201 E. Austin at 8:07 a.m. for damage to a wash bay. Investigation inactive due to lack of leads.

April 6, 2010

While on routine patrol, Officer Lehmann met with complainant in the lobby of the Police Department at 4:25 p.m., reporting a terroristic threat. Investigation is ongoing.

April 7, 2010

At 12:25 a.m., Officer Hernandez and Sgt. Ray were dispatched to a leaving the scene accident at 977 E. Austin at the Dairy Queen. Charlotte Taylor stated that her truck had been hit while parked in the parking lot and was damaged. She did not wish to pursue charges.

At approximately 10:30 a.m., Officer Bridgefarmer responded to a report of Burglary of a Motor Vehicle at 632 S. Leon St. Upon arrival he made contact with the owner of the vehicle and was informed that sometime between midnight and 8:00 a.m. the vehicle had been broken into and electronic items stolen. This is an active investigation.

April 7, 2010

At approximately 11:30 a.m., the Giddings Police Department was notified of a Theft that had occurred at Dollar General, 2440 E. Austin St, on 4-5-10. This is an active investigation.

April 8, 2010

At 8:10 a.m., Officer Spencer and Officer Bridgefarmer responded to a report of Criminal Mischief at 692 W. Boundary St. The damage was to a silver Ford Explorer, which had been spray painted and had two punctured tires. This is an active investigation.

April 8, 2010

At 8:58 a.m., Officer Spencer and Officer Bridgefarmer came upon a verbal disturbance taking place in the 600 blk of W. Boundary. Threats and profanity were being yelled by a female identified as Jacqueline Huff. She was instructed to place her hands behind her back and she resisted being arrested. She was later transported to the Lee County Jail where she was charged with Resisting Arrest (Misd A) and Disorderly Conduct (Misd. C).

April 8, 2010 At 9:40 a.m., Lt. Harney and Sgt Ramsey observed a collision at the 200 blk of E. Austin. The driver of one of the vehicles involved, identified as Jerel Lozano was arrested for Driving While License Invalid and Possession of Marijuana.

April 8, 2010

At approximately 11:15 a.m., Officer Spencer and Officer Bridgefarmer responded to a report of a suspicious person in an abandoned residence located at 789 W. Railroad. Doward Govan II indicated that he was preparing to cut the grass when he thought he saw someone moving inside the home. The officers entered the residence and discovered a male subject in one of the back rooms of the home. The subject, identified as Gary Allen Warner was found inside the residence without the consent of the owner. He was charged with Criminal Trespass of a Habitation and booked into Lee County Jail.

April 8, 2010

Officer Spencer was dispatched to meet a complainant in the lobby for Identity Theft. Hank Snyder reported that his uncle had registered a vehicle in his name and not paid some highway toll fees. The case is under investigation.

At 4:15 p.m., Officer Bridgefarmer responded to the Brookshire Pharmacy in regard to the pharmacist finding a drivers license and social security. The case is under investigation.

April 9, 2010

While on routine patrol, Officer Lehmann was dispatched to the parking lot behind the high school at 2:29 p.m. for the report of a broken car window.

April 10, 2010

At 12:18 a.m. Officer Hernandez and Sgt. Ray while on routine patrol were dispatched to a residence off of 497 W. Austin. Upon arrival Zoila Rosa Sanchez stated that her husband, Magdaleno Sanchez Luna had a verbal argument that escalated into physical aggression by Luna. Luna was arrested for Assault Family Violence Class C.

April 10, 2010

At10:09 p.m. while on routine patrol Officer Hernandez and Sgt. Ray observed a vehicle stopped at the stop sign at the 100 blk of N. Burleson with the lights off. They pulled behind the vehicle and came into contact with Cebellos, Hernon Medina who appeared to be highly intoxicated and had an odor of an alcoholic beverage about his person. Cabellos was asked to step out of his vehicle to perform a Standard Field Sobriety Test to confirm that he was in fact able to safely drive. Cabellos was unsuccessful in completing the test and failed. He was placed under arrest for Driving While Intoxicated Class B. Handcuffs were double locked and two finger spaced. He was transported to LCSO for booking.

April 11, 2010

At 12:14 a.m., Officer Griffin was patrolling the Bernie’s Bar parking lot at 2110 E. Hempstead and observed an occupant of a vehicle in the driver’s seat, vomiting onto the ground. The front passenger of the vehicle, Danielle Lynn Vonminden of La Grange, was subsequently placed under arrest for Public Intoxication, due to her almost being involved in an altercation inside the bar and with the driver of the vehicle, who was her friend. She was taken to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, processed and released.

April 11, 2010

At 9:57 a.m. Officer Spencer was dispatched to the Executive Inn in reference to a television missing from one of the motel rooms. The case is under investigation.
