Eagle Tennis

Pictured above is the Caldwell Copperheads baseball Team after winning 2nd Place in the 11U Division in the Nations Baseball Association-BCS Classic I Tournament held in Bryan/ College Station March 27th and 28th. The Caldwell Copperheads also recently placed 3rd in the Super Series Association Round Rock “Spring Fling” Tournament held March 6th and 7th. Not pictured: Coach Keith Scarmardo. The tennis team traveled to Somerville on March 25th. They were short-handed because of the stock show, track meet, and oneact play. The mixed doubles team of Jace Jones and Mackenzie Brown won second beating Columbus and Caldwell before losing to a good Bellville team in the championship.

On March 31st the team participated in the Academy Tourney. The mixed doubles team of Vaughn Kassner and Rachel Clark lost the championship to Florence. The boys’ doubles team of Kaelan Blok and Caleb McBride won the consolation championship over an Academy team. The girls’ doubles team of Ashley Retzloff and Deandra Little lost the consolation championship to a Florence team.

Coach Mike Junek said, “I am very proud of our team this year, they have done a great job.”

The tennis team will begin the district tourney play on April 5th and the finals will be April 8th in Georgetown.
