LHS NHS Receives $500 for Blood Drive

Members of Lexington High School’s National Honor Society were given $500 by the American Red Cross Southwest Region Blood Services recently for winning third place among other high schools for the largest number of units donated. LHS NHS members Casey Iselt- President of National Honor Society, Kathlyn McGuill - N.H.S Blood Drive Chairman and Caleb McBride - Vice President of N.H.S accepted the check from Lindsay Laws, Donor Recruitment Representative for the Red Cross.

Kathlyn McGuill said, “Our N.H.S. is planning two more blood drives this year, with the next one being on April 28. The American Red Cross’s contest continues this semester and we have a chance to win another $500 which will be used for scholarships. In order to achieve this goal, community support will needed. We encourage and ask our community to come out to the High School on Wednesday, April 28 to contribute blood during this next drive and give the gift of life.”

High school seniors who donated both last semester and once this semester shall be awarded red cords to wear at graduation.
