March 22, 2010

Deputy York assisted with a funeral escort from St. Margaret’s Church to the Giddings cemetery.

A motorist reported that a dog was in the middle of Hwy 290 West near the Lee & Bastrop County line. It appeared to be injured. Deputy York was dispatched and searched the area but was unable to locate the dog.

A caller reported cows out approx 2-3 miles off Hwy 21 on FM 3403. Deputy Carvin was dispatched and removed the cows from the roadway.

A complainant reported that her neighbor’s goats were out again and on her property. Deputy Durrenberger was dispatched. The complainant called back and advised that she made contact with the neighbor and they were going to take care of the problem.

March 23, 2010

Deputy York was dispatched to a family disturbance on Hwy 77 North in Lexington. A caller reported that his step son gave his mother a bloody nose.

ADT called and reported a residential alarm at a residence. Deputy York was on his way when the alarm company called back and cancelled the alarm.

The Sheriff’s Office received a call from a motorist who reported that she had an accident and her vehicle rolled over. No injuries were reported. Deputy Robertson assisted Trooper Thorp at the scene.

Deputy Ray and Deputy Aderhold were dispatched to a disturbance on CR 430 in Dime Box. The complainant reported that a female in his residence had gone crazy and threw Clorox in his face. She was also reported to be throwing and breaking things in the house. The caller reported that she had walked out and was on the back porch. The female was arrested and taken into custody and transported to the Lee County Jail. The male subject was checked out by B&M ambulance and released.

March 24, 2010

A motorist reported that a calf was out on CR 209 approx 1 mile outside the city limits. Deputy Aderhold removed the calf from the roadway.

Several motorists reported a two vehicle rollover accident on Hwy 290 West near the Bastrop County line. Deputy York, Deputy Robertson and Deputy Carvin responded and assisted with traffic control.

Deputy Easley and Deputy Ray assisted Trooper Thorp on FM 141 after a caller reported that a vehicle ran through their fence. There were no injuries reported.

A caller reported cows out on Hwy 21 West. She had attempted to make contact with the owner but could not reach him. Deputy Ray was dispatched.

March 25, 2010

A resident on CR 205 reported that several mailboxes had been damaged sometime during the night. Deputy Crockett took a report.

Deputy Crockett spoke to a complainant who reported that someone had stolen some pipe from his property. A report was made and the case is still under investigation.

A motorist reported approx 20 head of cattle out on CR 128 at FM 180. Deputy Robertson and Deputy Carvin were able to run the cows off the roadway and into a pasture.

A caller reported that he was driving an 18 wheeler and pulled out too far and went into the ditch. The trailer is blocking FM 141. Chief Deputy Kothmann and Deputy Easley assisted with traffic control allowing the driver to get the 18 wheeler back onto the road.

Deputy Easley was dispatched to a local business to check out a suspicious vehicle that was occupied by two males. The vehicle was seen earlier in the area by another subject.

March 26, 2010

Deputy Crockett was dispatched to put some cows up that were out on CR 312.

A caller reported that someone had broken into the water plant and damaged some pipes at the Westwood Villa Apartments. Deputy Crockett responded. A report was taken and investigation continues on this case.

Deputy Robertson spoke to a complainant who reported that she was being harassed by an ex boyfriend. No report was taken. The complainant did not wish to file charges at this time. She advised she has an attorney and will talk the situation over with him.

Deputy Lapham, Deputy Durrenberger and Deputy Robertson assisted the Giddings Police in locating a runaway. The mother had located her but the juvenile refused to get into the vehicle.

A resident requested a civil stand by while she collected her clothes and other items from her residence. Deputy Robertson and Deputy Durrenberger assisted.

A motorist reported cows out on the roadway on Hwy 77 @ CR 330. Deputy Durrenberger was dispatched and ran them back into the property next to the church on Hwy 77 @ CR 329.

Burleson County reported that they were notified that there was a large burn pile on fire and it looks like it got out of control. Deputy Durrenberger assisted the Dime Box Fire Dept. Everything was okay. It was a control burn.

A motorist reported that he was driving a black truck and pulling a boat and a wheel came off the truck. He was in the middle of FM 141 @ FM 1697. Deputy Ray and Deputy Durrenberger assisted with traffic control until the wrecker arrived on scene.

March 27, 2010

Deputy Crockett assisted Bastrop County with attempting to locate a vehicle that was taken in their county. The deputy searched CR 304 for the vehicle but did not locate it.

A resident on CR 308 reported that someone had stolen an electric gate opener and a solar panel from his property. Deputy Lapham was dispatched and a report was taken.

Deputy Lapham responded to a verbal disturbance on CR 316 in Lexington. It was a civil issue and no report was taken.

Deputy Ray made contact with a complainant on CR 309 who called and reported that their children were playing outside and found some property.

A resident on CR 442 requested a deputy meet her at her residence because someone had cut the locks off her gate. Deputy Robertson and Deputy Durrenberger responded and advised that this would be a civil dispute and referred the caller to her attorney.

March 28, 2010

The Sheriff’s Office received a call on CR 450 from a resident advising that he heard what sounded like someone was turning the door handle to his front door. Deputy Ray and Deputy Easley responded and searched the area but were unable to find anyone. A close patrol of the area will be put into effect.

A motorist reported that a tan Chevrolet Suburban was headed eastbound on Hwy 290 from Hills and was swerving back and forth between the traffic lanes. Deputy Ray located the vehicle and the driver was reported to be sleepy. He stopped at the rest area to get some rest.

Deputy Durrenberger was dispatched to Westwood Villa Apartments after a resident called in and reported that her home had been burglarized. A report was taken and investigation continues at this time.

Lee County received a 9-1-1 hang up call from an address on CR 441 in Dime Box. Dispatch attempted to call the number back by the line was busy. Deputy Robertson was dispatched to check out the situation. Everything was ok, they had misdialed.

A caller reported two suspicious vehicles on CR 133. A description was given to Deputy Robertson and Deputy Durrenberger. They reported to dispatch that they searched the area but did not locate any vehicles matching the description.

Rescue #2103 radioed Deputy Durrenberger over the car to car frequency advising that a red Chevrolet 4 door truck was driving in excess of 85 mph and nearly ran one of his vehicles off the roadway. Deputy Durrenberger located the truck just south of FM 3403 on Hwy 77. Deputy Ray and Trooper Thorp assisted.

All units were notified that Fayette County had an armed robbery occur. All descriptions were broadcasted over the radio and information was passed on so that our agency could assist in attempting to locate the suspects. Jail Count: 03/28/2010: 40
