“Field of Hope”

The Thorndale Relay for Life is setting up a “Field of Hope” on the corner of Hwy 79 and 1st Street in Thorndale. Since most of the times, people who purchase Luminarias for loved ones may not be able to come to the Relay and see them, we are going to place a “Fight Back” flag with the person’s name on it on the lot for every Luminaria purchased. This will allow us to Honor those who are still fighting the fight as well as those who have lost their battle in a longer and more visual way. The “Hope” is that family and friends will have the opportunity to see this memorial stand all month and possibly for a little bit after the Relay. Luminarias will still be placed around the track the night of the Relay on April 30th at the City Park but we wanted to honor these folks more than just that night. If you are interested in purchasing a Luminaria in Honor of or “in Memory of” a friend or family member the suggested purchase price is $5.00 but you can purchase them for more or less. The purchase of the Luminaria would include the placement of the flag on the “Field of Hope”. If you are interested in buying a Luminaria you can contact any Thorndale Relay for Life team member. For information about the “Field of Hope” or to purchase a Luminaria you can contact Kim Richter @ 512-760-6997 or 898-2758 or Deana Caffey at 898-5189 or 898-0421.
