Copperheads Win Championship

The Brazos Valley Copperheads 10U baseball team competed in the 1st Annual College Station Super Series Baseball Tournament on Sunday March 14, 2010. The Copperheads are boys from Caldwell, Lexington and Snook.

It was a long day for the Copperheads as pool play began at 8:00a.m. The team lost both games in pool play by scores of 9- 8 and 10-7. However, it was a different story when the brackets were set and tournament play began.

The Copperheads faced the Texas Outlaws first and won by a score of 8-5. The win advanced the team into the championship game against the Bryan Outlaws. It was a close game into the bottom of the fifth inning with the Copperheads wining 6-4.

That’s when the bats came alive and the Copperheads exploded for eight runs to record a 14-4 win and the tournament championship.

Boys from Lexington include Cache Garrett, Kolton Smith, Colby Bexley, Ryan Garrison, Blake Gibson, Walker Hess and Sam Perry, along with Chad Garrett and Daniel Garrison as coaches.
