Giddings Police Report

March 15, 2010

At 3:06 am, Officer Shepard was dispatched to 809 S. Madison in reference to a burglary. Upon arrival, he met with Daniel Bradshaw and Voncille Lopez who stated that they left their home at approximately 3:00 am and returned approximately 10 minutes later and their 32” television was missing. This case is currently under investigation.

March 15, 2010

At 4:16 pm Officer Carvin initiated a traffic stop in the 700 block of W. Austin on a vehicle that displayed expired inspection (1, 2010). The driver, James Lance Butt, Jr. was subsequently arrested for driving while license invalid enhanced.

At 7:37 pm, Sgt. Ramsey spoke to a complainant at the Giddings Police Department in reference to terroristic threat. The case is under investigation.

At 9:16 pm, Officer Spencer was dispatched to Seafood and Donuts located at 1510 E. Austin in reference to a burglary of a building. The glass back door was broken out and items were missing from the interior. The case is currently under investigation.

March 16, 2010

At approximately 9:30 am, the Lee County Attorney’s Office called the Police Department in reference to numerous checks turned into their office as insufficient funds. After reviewing the checks, it appeared that the checks were issued by the same person, only using different identities and banks on the checks at the times the checks were passed. All of the checks were stamped “unable to locate account”; however, all of the names and addresses used were actual persons with their correct address and information. The checks were passed at Brookshire Brothers and Buc-ee’s in the city of Giddings between December 2009 and February 2010. Case is currently under investigation.

March 16, 2010

At 6:17 pm the Giddings Police Department received a report of lost items. Max Fields indicated that while at the Texaco at 4125 E. Austin, he removed a large grey and blue backpack containing several items from his vehicle to rearrange some of his bags. Mr. Fields did not notice the backpack missing until he arrived in Austin. If anyone has any information on this missing item, they are asked to notify Officer Bridgefarmer at the Giddings Police Department.

March 18, 2010

While on routine patrol, Officer Lehmann and Officer Cummings were dispatched to Citizens National Bank at 9:14 am in reference to check fraud. An investigation is ongoing.

March 18, 2010

At 9:21 am, Sgt Ramirez met with a complainant identified as Patricia Adcock with the Lee County Probation Office in reference to a forged document. Case pending further investigation and charges.

March 18, 2010

At 11:57 am, Sgt Ramirez along with Officer Lehmann and Officer Cummings was dispatched to 295 Woodland Avenue in reference to a disturbance in progress. Clifton Bradshaw was placed under arrest for Criminal Trespass and Assault by Contact. Bradshaw was transported to the Lee County Sheriff’s Department for process.

March 20, 2010

At 3:37 am, Sgt Ramsey and Officer Bridgefarmer went to the 200 blk of W. Houston, Chapell’s Night Club, to assist Officer Spencer with minors in possession of alcohol. While in the area, a fight occurred inside the club. Everyone was ordered to leave the area. No injuries were reported.

March 21, 2010

At approximately 2:20 am, Officer Bridgefarmer, Sgt. Ramsey and Officer Spencer responded to a reported fight at Whataburger. The individuals involved were identified as Tyler Wallace, Marselo Hernandez, Brent Cromwell, Gregory Duncan, and Courtney Wherry. All of the subjects were cited and released for Disorderly Conduct Fighting.

March 21, 2010

While on routine patrol, Officer Lehmann met with a complainant at the Police Department at 11:48 am, who reported that two bicycles were stolen from under his carport on N. Gaeke.
