Giddings Library News Corner
The Giddings Public Library has available for check-out Kathryn Storkett’s The Help which has been number one on the best seller list for several weeks. This moving novel filled with humor and hope features two maids, Aibileen and Minny, who tell about the people they work for. This book will surprise you with touching moments that are indicative of our nation at an earlier time. It’s no wonder it’s been a Best Seller for weeks.
The Bible Dictionary & Concordance is an easy to read reference tool which contains over 16,000 biblical names and terms. With so many entry words, this is an easy way to learn more about the people and places that are found in the Bible.
The Great, Great, Great Chicken War gives a child’s vision of how silly people can be when they fight. A very interesting book to check out would be The Courthouses Of Texas, which can be found in the non-fiction section.
Two books that were presented to the Giddings Public Library by the author for The Texas Word Wrangler Book Festival 2009 are: Art From The Heart by Kathy Whithead and Marty Finds His Family Tree by Theresa Marie Haak.
The Library is open Monday through Friday from 10 in the morning until 6 in the evening. It is also open Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Library is closed on Sundays.
