Rogers Stops Lady Eagles
Lexington spotted Rogers four runs in the top of the first and never recovered. Lexington only managed one hit off two Rogers pitchers and struck out 14 times in the second game of District 25-AA action.
Rogers got four consecutive singles with one out in the top of the first scoring only one run. A ground out to second garnered the second run for the Bell County team. A dropped fly ball on what would have been the third out allowed two more runners to cross the plate for a 4-0 Rogers lead.
Lexington managed two base runners in the game. They were both the same person. Courtney Robertson walked in the second inning and got Lexington’s only hit in the fifth with a lead off double. From that point on, the Lexington bats went silent as they struck out the rest of the game.
