March 8, 2010

A resident on CR 114 reported hearing someone outside her residence. Deputy Ray was dispatched and checked the perimeter of the house.

Deputy Ray and Deputy Aderhold assisted Trooper Early at the scene of an accident on CR 113. A caller reported that he let his friend borrow his vehicle and he wrecked it. The driver was taken to the hospital by private vehicle.

A complainant reported that she was worried about her minor children because the bus drops them off at 5:00 and they were not home yet. Deputy Easley later advised that the mother had located the children. The school bus had broken down.

March 9, 2010

A caller reported hearing suspicious noises outside of her house on CR 133. She also stated that her dogs were barking. Deputy Ray searched and was unable to locate anyone on the property. A close patrol will be put into effect.

Deputy Robertson was dispatched to CR 326 after several callers complained about an 18- wheeler that had been stuck in the mud and partially on the roadway for two days. McCoy’s Wrecker was called to the scene and moved the 18-wheeler off the roadway.

A complainant advised that there were some subjects hog hunting on his property on CR 316 without his permission. He knows the subjects and wants them issued criminal trespass notices. Deputy Easley was dispatched but upon arrival, the gate was locked. Dispatch attempted to contact the complainant back but he didn’t answer his phone.

Deputy Ray was dispatched to a residence after a complainant called and wanted to speak to a deputy regarding terroristic threat charges on a subject who went to his house with a night stick and threatened to kill him if he didn’t leave the property. The deputy spoke to both subjects involved.

A caller reported hearing a woman screaming from a wooded area near CR A. Captain Gonzales, Deputy Robertson, Deputy Easley and Deputy Ray were dispatched and search the wooded area and CR A but did not locate anyone. Deputies stayed in the area and patrolled.

March 10, 2010

A caller requested a deputy because her boyfriend was at her house on CR 113 and he was drunk and yelling at her. She asked him to leave but he refused. Deputy Ray was dispatched but advised dispatch that the intoxicated boyfriend had left the residence prior to his arrival.

Deputy Robertson is working on a theft of livestock case in the Lexington area. A low boy trailer was also stolen. A report was made and investigation continues on this case.

Deputy Durrenberger assisted at the scene of an accident on FM 696 East. A vehicle had struck a cow. No injuries were reported and the cow was fine and ran back into the field.

March 11, 2010

A resident on CR 426 in Dime Box reported that there was a U Haul truck on fire at the entrance to his driveway. Deputy Durrenberger was dispatched along with Dime Box Fire Dept. The next day, the Sheriff’s Office received a call that the U Haul was stolen. Investigation continues on this case.

Deputy Ray was dispatched to AJ’s Custom Paint after a caller reported that a vehicle was on fire. The Giddings Fire Dept. responded and put out the fire.

The Sheriff’s Office received a call from a subject who advised that someone had broken into his wrecker. Deputy York is investigating the case.

An alarm company reported a residential alarm at a residence in Dime Box. Captain Gonzales, Deputy Robertson and Deputy Durrenberger checked the entire residence. There were no signs of a break in and the key holder arrived at the scene and reset the alarm.

Deputy Durrenberger put up cows that were out on Hwy 21 near CR 401.

March 12, 2010

A resident on CR 122 called the Sheriff’s Office and reported that she heard gun shots close to her residence. Deputy Aderhold took the call and searched the area but did not locate the source.

Deputy Lapham was dispatched to the Dime Box School to issue three students citations for fighting.

A caller reported that someone had been using his social security number. He spoke to Deputy Lapham and a report was made.

A complainant came into the office and spoke to Chief Deputy Kothmann after he learned that his wife had taken out a large sum of money from his bank, took their jeep and the children.

Deputy Carvin was dispatched to Hwy 77 approximately one mile north of Tanglewood to put up two horses that were running loose on the Hwy.

Deputy Aderhold close patrolled some property on Hwy 21 in Lincoln after a caller reported that people were driving through his property and tearing it up.

March 13, 2010

The Sheriff’s Office received a call from a man who did not talk very much. Subject was very quiet, like if attempting to avoid having someone hear his conversation. Deputy Aderhold located the caller on PR 5000 and his vehicle had broken down. A wrecker was called and the vehicle was towed.

Deputy Lapham put up a small calf that was running loose on Hwy 21 east of Hwy 77.

A motorist reported cows standing in the middle of road on CR 118. Deputy Lapham was dispatched and advised that the fence was down. The owner was notified and was on his way from Austin.

Deputy Lapham assisted with a funeral escort for Lang Funeral Home from Houston St. to the Fayette County line.

A complainant advised that she is having a problem with her neighbor who is allowing his cattle to graze on her property. She put a lock on her gate and the neighbor removed it. Deputy Carvin spoke to both parties involved and determined it was a civil matter.

Deputy York responded to FM 141 after a caller reported a red mini pony and a white goat out on the road. The animals were removed from the roadway and the owner was notified.

Deputy Easley and Deputy Carvin responded to a residence on PR 7708 after a caller reported that he was out on his 4 wheeler tracking coyotes and a subject he knew began shooting at him. Deputy Carvin advised that the complainant never actually saw the subject shooting at him and there is some past personal problems between the two subjects.

A resident on CR 233 advised that someone was playing music so loudly that their house was shaking. Deputy Easley located the source and asked them to turn it down.

Deputy Aderhold was dispatched to a domestic disturbance on PR 7703. A female had showed up at her child’s father’s house and was very intoxicated and was demanding to take their child. Subject refused to leave and was arrested for public intoxication.

March 14, 2010

Deputy York was dispatched back out to PR 7703 because after the female was released from jail this morning, she went back to the ex boyfriends and was causing problems.

The Sheriff’s Office received a report of a two vehicle accident on Hwy 290 West in Hills. Deputy York and Deputy Lapham responded and assisted with traffic control.

Deputy Lapham was dispatched to a motorcycle accident on Hwy 77 at CR 217. The driver was transported to the hospital.

A caller reported that her neighbor cut off two fingers and needs an ambulance. Deputy York and Deputy Lapham responded to assist. B&M requested Starflight so they could transport to the hospital.

Deputy Easley and Deputy Ray were dispatched to CR 207 after a caller advised that a white Chevrolet truck had just hit his mailbox and three others. The information on the truck was obtained and investigation continues.
