To Lee County Residents:

by Amanda Becker

The Lee County Relay for Life is kicking off its 10th year of celebrating surviving cancer patients and remembering friends and family members who have passed away from cancer.

Charles Etta Francis and Ruth Jatzlau are Relay for Life’s committee members for team development and retention this year. We are rallying past teams and forming new teams to participate in 2010’s Relay for Life. All businesses, clubs, city offices, county offices, and schools should walk together to form a team. This year we are making a special plea for churches to participate. Lee County churches are the foundation of our communities and we need your help to spread cancer awareness in our neighborhoods.

June 11-12, 2010, at Lexington’s High School Eagle Stadium, 7:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m. is the time for our communities to show their caring and giving spirit by WALKING in the Relay for Life. We are a CANDO group of people who will make this year’s walk the best one yet.

Thanks to the teams who have already committed to being a part of the Relay for Life 2010. If anyone needs help starting a “New Team,” please do not hesitate to call us. The ability to help save lives and give to a neighbor is one of God’s greatest gifts.
