Lexington City Council News

The Lexington City Council met in regular session on Wednesday, March 10th, 2010, at 6:00 p.m., at the Woodson Community Center. Present were Mayor Robert Willrich, Sr.; Councilpersons Tony Tavary, Tim Brown, Greg Langehennig and William Langehennig. Councilperson Lori Barnikow was absent. Mayor Robert Willrich, Sr. brought the meeting to order and welcomed the guest. There was no citizen input.

Tim Brown made the motion to approve the minutes for February 10th and 24th, 2010. Tony Tavary seconded the motion. Vote 4 for. Tony Tavary made the motion to approve paying the bills for the month of February 2010. Tim Brown seconded the motion. Vote 4 for. Tim Brown made the motion to go with City Attorney’s recommendation for all the school’s citations to be turned over to County Court. Greg Langehennig seconded the motion. Vote 4 for. Tim Brown made the motion to approve the new reserve officer recommended by Chief Davenport. Tony Tavary seconded the motion. Vote 4 for.

Greg Langehennig made the motion to declare April 2010 as clean up month for the City of Lexington. Tim Brown seconded the motion. Vote 4 for. Greg Langehennig made the motion to authorize Kerbow & Associates to prepare an application for the 2011/2012 Texas Community Block Grant. Tim Brown seconded the motion. Vote 4 for. Greg Langehennig made the motion to approve the 2011/2012 Texas Community Development Program Grant Application Agreement with Kerbow & Associates Consulting, Inc. Tim Brown seconded the motion. Vote 4 for. Tim Brown made the motion to adopt a City Ordinance requiring anyone who signs up for the City utilities and is renting should also bring in a signed contract accompanied with at least one type of picture identification. William Langehennig seconded the motion. Vote 4 for. William Langehennig made the motion to table action on cleaning bar ditches and putting in new drainage horns on Cherry Drive. Tim Brown seconded the motion. Vote 4 for.

Tony Tavary made the motion to approve the financial report. Tim Brown seconded the motion. Vote 4 for. Tim Brown made the motion to approve the budget report. Tony Tavary seconded the motion. Vote 4 for. Chief Davenport gave the Police Report. Tim Brown made the motion to adjourn. Tony Tavary seconded the motion. Vote 4 for. Adjourned at 7:03 p.m.
