Giddings Police Report

March 1, 2010

At 9:34 p.m., Sgt. Ramsey, Officers Spencer and Bridgefarmer responded to a reported assault at 596 E. Austin (Lone Star Market). Upon arrival they were notified that Jessica Engstfeld had assaulted Dale Arldt, her boyfriend. Jessica Engstfeld was arrested and taken to Lee County Jail for Assault With Injury – Family Violence.

March 5, 2010

At 7:37 a.m., Det. Cpl. Carvin was dispatched to 179 E. Brenham, Immanuel Lutheran Early Childhood Center, in reference to an attempted burglary. The entry door that leads into the administration office had been damaged during the attempt. Photographs were taken of the damage and a close patrol was requested for the property.

March 6, 2010

At 6:58 p.m., Officer Shepard observed a vehicle fishtailing at the 400 block of W. Austin and traveling eastbound at a high rate of speed. He initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle at the 100 block of N. Grimes and made contact with the driver, identified as Alder Villanueva of Giddings. After making contact with Villanueva, Officer Shepard detected the odor of alcohol coming from his breath. He administered field sobriety tests and determined Alder was intoxicated and he was taken into custody and transported to the Lee County Jail for booking

March 7, 2010

At approximately 12:02 a.m., Officer Shepard observed a red flatbed truck traveling westbound at approximately the 1500 block of W. Austin with no tail lamps. He initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle at the 300 block of W. Austin street. After making contact with the driver of the vehicle, Joseph John Nevius, it was discovered that he had a Lee County warrant and he was taken in for the warrant and Possession of Marijuana.

March 7, 2010

At 5:11 p.m., Officer Griffin responded to Walmart at 2374 E. Austin in reference to a report of a compact disc player being taken from a vehicle’s interior, belonging to a local resident. A report was completed; no other information.

March 7, 2010

At approximately 5:50 p.m., Sgt. Ray and Officer Bridgefarmer were contacted at the Giddings Police Department by Jessica Samples and Seth Simons in regard to a Criminal Mischief incident at Brookshire Brothers. Jessica and Seth indicated that Lisa Klimitchek had keyed the hood of Jessica’s vehicle during a verbal altercation. The case is under investigation.
