Giddings Police Report

February 22, 2010

At approximately 12:50 p.m., Officer Ramirez was on patrol when he observed a male subject known to him as Nicholas Rogers walking through the Northwest Simmang Park. Rogers had ten outstanding traffic warrants. Officer Ramirez made contact with Rogers and he was taken into custody. The warrants were issued out of Giddings Municipal Court. Rogers was transported to the Lee County Sheriff ’s Department for process and released to the jail staff.

February 22, 2010

At 1:54 p.m., Officer Ramirez met with a complainant identified as Daniel Bradshaw at the Giddings Police Department in reference to stolen medication. Bradshaw stated that he had a bottle of Hydrocodone filled Friday, February 19 and had taken only 12 since. He stated that he noticed that the pills were missing the previous night (01-21-10). Case pending further investigation.

February 23, 2010

At 2:30 p.m., Officer Ramirez and Officer Lehmann were dispatched to 295 Clark Lane in reference to a criminal trespass violation. Upon arrival, Officer Ramirez observed Tenola Lang on the property when there was a criminal trespass warning in effect. Lang was placed under arrest for criminal trespass. Lang was transported to the Lee County Jail for process and released to the jail staff.

February 24, 2010

At 2:12 p.m., Det. Cpl Carvin was traveling east in the 100 blk of Parkway avenue when a white Mercury Grand Marquis failed to yield right of way to her approaching fully-marked patrol car. She observed that the vehicle had expired motor vehicle registration and inspection and she initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle in the 1000 block of Parkway Ave. The driver, identified as Ashley Kunkel, was ultimately placed under arrest for multiple traffic warrants and transported to the Lee County Jail without incident. Case cleared.

February 25, 2010

At 4:29 p.m., Officer Griffin was dispatched to the Citgo, located at 791 N. Main in reference to an intoxicated subject attempting to drive away in a vehicle. Cuauhtemoc Deleon of Bryan was subsequently placed under arrest for Public Intoxication and taken to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office and released.

February 25, 2010

At 4:38 p.m., Sgt. Ramsey along with Officer Bridgefarmer responded to a call of criminal mischief at 260 E. Cuero #6. Upon arrival they met with Maribel Segura who stated that the two driver side tires on her family’s vehicle had been cut. Sgt Ramsey observed a white GMC SUV parked in the driveway of the residence and both tires on the driver side were flat. She could see puncture marks on the side walls of both tires. They were both Firestone tires and Maribel stated that they cost $140 each. Maribel stated that it was registered to Alma Rodriguez (her mother). Officer Bridgefarmer took photos of the vehicle and the damaged tires. The photos were downloaded to the file. Sgt. Ramsey asked Maribel if she saw anyone or had anyone in mind that would have done this. She first stated no one and then stated that her husband was having problems with a man named David. Maribel stated that she would talk to her husband and call with the dispute information and David’s last name. She stated that she did not know him and did not know what the problem was about. The vehicle had been parked in the driveway all day and was damaged sometime between lunchtime and 5 p.m. There are no suspects at this time. Alma told Maribel that she did want to pursue charged.

February 25, 2010

At approximately 7:55, p.m., Officers Spencer and Bridgefarmer were called on a report of a theft at Walmart. Kristina Yaeger was identified and stopped by Walmart personnel for a stolen dog collar and leash. Kristina was issued a citation for Theft (Class C Misd.) and released.

February 26, 2010

While on routine patrol, Officer Lehmann responded to a call of an intoxicated driver. The vehicle was stopped in the 300 block of S. Madison and the driver, Michael Craig Mitschke was arrested for DWI Class B.

February 28, 2010

At 2:36 a.m., while on routine patrol Officer Shepard observed a white 2000 Dodge Ram pickup truck weaving inside of its lane of traffic and then traveled into the right lane and swerved back into its lane. He initiated a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, Darryl Lee Maass. He observed clues of intoxication and conducted tests which confirmed that Darryl was possibly intoxicated. He was taken into custody and transported to the Lee County Jail for booking.
