Giddings Police Report

February 15, 2010

Detective Cpl. Carvin was contacted by a local business owner who advised that she had been contacted by an out-of-state resident in reference to fraudulent charges on her debit card. This case is active and under investigation.

February 16, 2010

At 4:42 p.m, Officer Griffin, on routine patrol, observed a wanted subject identified as Lance Deary of Smithville, inside a vehicle that was parked in the parking lot of 272 Edgewood. Deary provided false identifying information and was subsequently placed under arrest for 5 warrants out of Bastrop County and Failure to Identify, while being a fugitive from justice. Anna Marie Sambrano of Giddings was also inside the vehicle and was placed under arrest for Hindering Apprehension, due to her refusal to identify Deary. Both subjects were taken to the Lee County Sheriff ’s Office and released.

February 17, 2010

At approximately 5:45 p.m., Officer Shepard responded to a theft call at 550 W Liberty #3 in reference to a theft of a weed eater. Officer Shepard spoke with the victim, Chris Pereiro and he stated that he last noticed the weed eater under his front porch in December. This case is pending investigation.

February 17, 2010

While on routine patrol at 8:08 p.m., Sgt Ray observed a vehicle disregard a stop light northbound at Main St and Austin St. The driver was identified as Lucio Segundo, Jr. and was arrested for Driving While License Suspended/Invalid, Class B.

February 18, 2010

At 6:32 a.m, Officers Ramirez and Lehmann, Sgt. Ray, Capt. Pence and Lt. Harney assisted I.C.E. Federal Immigration on serving a warrant on Julian Palomo. Palomo was taken into custody at his residence at 260 E. Cuero St., Lot #6. The warrant was a Federal Warrant. Agents with I.C.E. transported Palomo to a Federal holding facility.

February 19, 2010

At 11:38 p.m., Sgt. Ramsey along with Officers Spencer and Bridgefarmer responded to an assault call that had occurred at Dr. J’s. The actors had already left the scene and wanted to report the incident. Timothy McMickle and Larry Gains had been in a mutual physical altercation. Timothy is being charged with criminal mischief for damaging Larry’s vehicle.

February 20, 2010

At 8:33 a.m., Officer Griffin responded to 251 N. Orange (Goodson-Voight Lumber & Hardware), in reference to a Coca- Cola vending machine being burglarized. A report was completed. No other information.

February 21, 2010

At approximately 2:20 a.m., Sgt Ramsey and Officer Bridgefarmer responded to a call of criminal mischief at Bernies Bar. Upon arrival, two vehicles were discovered with damaged tires. This case is under investigation.

February 21, 2010

At 3:33 p.m., Officer Griffin responded to the What-a-Burger, located at 2050 E. Austin, in reference to 2 vehicles having their tires damaged (slashed). A report was completed; no other information.

February 21, 2010

At approximately 7:40 p.m., Sgt. Ray and Officer Bridgefarmer responded to a call of criminal mischief at 871 Whispering Oaks. Curtis Krause reported that his vehicle was scratched. This case is under investigation.
