Lexington Red Hat Ladies Travel to Temple to Visit a Friend
Nine members of Lexington’s Red Hat Ladies motored over to Temple last week to visit a fellow Red Hatter, LaVerne Clark. LaVerne has been undergoing surgery and treatment in the hospital and rehab facility for several weeks, and not able to participate in Red Hat activities, so the “gals” decided to go visit her. LaVerne’s therapist learned of her membership in the Red Hat Club and extended an invitation to the group to meet at the Santa Fe Rehab Center. They prepared a lovely brunch for the Red Hat visitors, LaVerne’s children, J.R. and Linda Gail, as well as members of the hospital staff. The hospital staff enjoyed the colorful gathering as the meeting room was decorated in red and yellow flower arrangements and all the Red Hat ladies came sporting their large and colorful red hats and purple accessories. Lexington Red Hatters Cherry Stover, Lois Boyd, Mary Ann Hillegeist, Lee Marks, Cindy Gibson, Virginia Causey, Kay Dunn, Ruby Hartfield and Nancy Perry enjoyed the special outing to visit LaVerne.
