Giddings Library News Corner

By Loree Rost

When you need to remember a friend or relative who has passed on, give a memorial to the Giddings Public Library with the person’s name on a memorial card and who is giving the memorial. You can pick up a memorial card at the library the memory will live on for a very long time.

Dr. Horace Willard has been remembered with two books.

America Celebrates, put out by the Ideals magazine. It covers all of the holidays Americans celebrate with information and pictures about each. Also in Dr. Willard’s memory is The Duke Encyclopedia Of New Medicine which contains conventional and alternative medicine for all ages. It is a comprehensive look on healing treatments for the whole person.

A lovely book that readers using cake mixes can surely be interested in is Cake Mix Magic, a memorial for Mrs. Mary Fox, the mother of Helen Smith. Filled with recipes using cake mixes as the base, patrons can make wonderful creations with a minimum of fuss.

In the non-fiction section can be found Off The Tourist Trail, which will take readers to the world’s most fascinating and exciting destinations. The Best RV & Tent Campgrounds In The U.S.A. gives complete information on rates, hook-ups and facilities. Other books are The Encyclopedia Of Trains And Locomotives and a book in the Old West series entitled Old West The Indians.
