Jim Robbins

Funeral services for Jim Robbins were Sunday, February 7, 2010 at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home. Burial in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery with Rev. Calvin Springer officiating.

Jim was born June 9, 1927 in Tanglewood, Texas to Richard Lee and Maggie Elsie (Smith) Robbins.

Jim was a lifelong resident of Milam County. He served in the U.S. Marines.

He was a self employed dirt and concrete contractor and landscaper.

Jim passed away Wednesday night, February 3, 2010 in the Manor Oaks Nursing Center in Rockdale, reaching the age of 82. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Bartlett Robbins on December 26, 1964. His parents. Son-in-law, Louis Gifford on April 7, 2009 and Brother Ed Robbins.

Surviving; His daughter, Becky Gifford of Rockdale. Two brothers, Clyde Robbins of Rockdale and Danny Robbins of Hutto. Three grandchildren, Shannon Lehmann of Rockdale, Aaron Gifford of Thorndale and Tabitha Strelsky of Rockdale. Ten great grandchildren; Brianna, Landon, Austin, Emeri and Nicholas Gifford, Jennifer and Hunter Lehmann, Deven, Mikayla and Autumn Strelsky.

Serving as pallbearers, Henry Dupree, Ernie Cates, Jim Bartlett, Bob Ressel, Todd Ressel, Robert Pounders.

Honorary pallbearers; Von Jensen, Jimmy New, Joel New, Billy Graham, Tom Fisher, Pete York, Clifford Sims, Harold “Smokie” Clark.
