45th Annual Lexington Homecoming

Homecoming is fast approaching. We are in the beginning stages of planning for our 45th Annual Lexington Homecoming scheduled for the first weekend in May.

Folks are calling in from many points in Texas requesting space for craft booths. Local civic and school organizations are making their plans to have food and game booths. Organizers for the rodeos, BBQ cook-off, 5K run/walk, parade, car show, art exhibit, horse shoe/washers, and antique tractor show are laying the groundwork for the events.

We are excited to announce the entertainment for this year. On Friday night, Lee County Line is providing the entertainment from 8PM to Midnight and then on Saturday night, Todd Fritsch is providing the entertainment from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. What began in 1966 as a one day event to host those who came back home to attend the churches of their childhood has evolved into a four day event which includes many fun and different activities.

The schedule, contact information, as well as applications for various activities, is available on the internet at www.lexingtontexas.com. Check this site out to read about what’s going on around our town.

If there are any class reunions that are being planned for Homecoming 2010, please contact the Lexington Chamber so we can include the details in our schedule of events. We would also like for you to be a participant in our parade.

We are really looking forward to this year’s event. We hope all of you will come out, bring your family and friends and help celebrate and continue this wonderful tradition.
