Giddings JV Girls Basketball Team Beats Smithville and Bellville

The JV Girls defeated Smithville in a District Game 48-33 in Smithville last week in which the JV Lady Buffs rolled out to a 17-4 lead at the end of the first quarter and played hard to get a nice win over the JV Lady Tigers . Maneesah Reese was the leading scorer for Giddings with 11 points, followed closely by Kathryn Mason with 10, Brianna Johnson and Kalyn Morgan with 6 points each, Vickie Schimmank 5, Sara Owens and Tanya Moreno 4 points each, Tavia Richard added 2 points to round out the scoring.

In the second District Game for the week, the Giddings JV Girls whipped Columbus 61- 13 at home. Giddings shot very well from the first quarter throughout the game. As a team, the Lady Buff JV Girls hit 6 three pointers against the Columbus defense. Leading the scoring for Giddings was Vickie Schimank with a season high 18 points, Kathryn Mason 13, Tavia Richard 12, Brianna Johnson 9, Tanya Moreno 7, and Sarah Owens added 2 points to complete the scoring. The Giddings JV Girls Basketball Team’s Season Record is 24-2 and 5-0 in District play.
