Virginia Crittendon Clemons

Virginia Crittendon Clemons was born on June 8, 1931 to David and Zelma Williams Crittendon in Lincoln, Texas. She was the sixth child of a family of thirteen.

She met and married Connie Clemons on October 1, 1949 in Dime Box, Texas. To this union two boys and two girls were born.

She was a devoted member of Goodwill Baptist Church in Dime Box, Texas. She worked for 23 years at the Kellar Furniture Company in Caldwell, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her father and mother; two sisters, Alice McDowell and Doris Randle; four brothers, Charles Crittendon, H.D. Crittendon, Luther Crittendon and Theodore Crittendon; husband Connie Clemons Sr.; son Connie Clemons Jr.; and daughter Shirley Clemons- Armstrong.

She leaves to cherish her memories: her son Larry Clemons and wife, Charles Etta of Mesquite, Texas; daughter Cherry M. Dixon of Dime Box, Texas; son-in-law Horace Armstrong of Live Oak, Texas; three sisters, Alberta Siverand of San Francisco, California, Blanche Bluford(Joseph) of Oakland, California and Verlin Morrison of Lexington, Texas; four brothers, Melvin Crittendon(Jewel) of Houston, Texas, Maurice Crittendon(Bertha) of Dallas, Texas, Jerlin Crittendon(Helen) of Lyons, Texas and J.L. Crittendon of Lincoln, Texas; four sisters-in-law, Fannie Mae Crittendon and Zora Mae Hall of Houston, Texas, Bertha Crittendon of Yuba City, California and Deloise Crittendon of Hearne, Texas; 9 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
