Lexington fell behind early in the game, but fought back to 18-all at halftime. Lexington was sluggish in the first quarter only managing four points. The Lady Eagle defense was tough allowing the Lady Bees only 10 in the same period. Lexington’s hustle started to pay off in the second period as they made up the six points they lost in the first quarter to have the halftime tie.

In the third quarter the teams battled evenly throughout. Academy did move one-point up in the period but they were in easy range. Academy hit a couple of long shots to move out to a seven point lead. Lexington began to chip away at the lead. Lexington got to 38-35 with less than a minute to go. Mackenzie Brown got open for a three-point shot that was off the mark just a little. Academy rebounded and Lexington fouled. Lexington got a free throw later but Academy held on for the victory.

Angel Parks led the Lady Eagles in scoring for the second game in a row with 15 points. Deja Griffin added eight points on several tough drives. The Lady Eagles played hard and deserved a win but it wasn’t in the cards.
