8th Grade Girls Win Giddings Tourney

The 8th grade girls captured their second tourney in two weeks with a win in the Giddings Tourney last weekend. The young Lady Eagles beat Rockdale in the first round and Caldwell for the championship.

Lexington beat Rockdale 29-23 in the first round with scoring from Kristin Schneider 10, Kristin Boettcher 8, Madison Bexley 2, Madison Bristow 5, and Meghann Wrinkle 4. In the championship game Lexington beat Caldwell 23- 12. Schneider scored 10, Boettcher 2, Bristow 6, Beard 2, and Wrinkle 3. Coach Tiffany Robertson at- tributes better free throw shooting as a major contributor in the wins. The 8th graders shot 60% (15 of 25) during the tourney.

The 7th grade girls continued to impress with their hustle and overall effort. They lost to Rockdale 19-16 and to Caldwell 15- 13 in two hard fought games. In the loss to Rockdale, Madeline Morton scored 2, Maegan Sanders 1, Bailey Reynolds 5, and Kasey Smith 8. Against Caldwell scoring were: Morton 4 points and Smith 9 points.
