District, Area, and State LDE’s

Another successful year has passed for the Lexington FFA in LDE’s (Leadership Development Events). All the FFA members that participated were determined to win in their events such as Sr. Skills, who were the best in Texas out of 296 schools!

District 1 took place in Franklin, Texas on November 9, 2009. For the fifteenth year in a row, Lexington has won the “Sweepstakes Award” in District 1. This is given to the chapter as a whole that displays well rounded characteristics of leadership.

Skill in leading people, well developed voice, neat appearance, ability to learn parliamentary procedure, and willingness to work are just a few characteristics that one should have to represent the Lexington FFA in a leadership event. Members who participated in District 1 are:

Job Interview- Courtney Jackson (3rd Place); Sr. Creed- Haley Jatzlau (5th Place); Jr. Creed- Aleece Moerbe (2nd Place); Sr. Skills- Rachel Edwards, Mason Vecera, Nicole Koch (1st Place); Jr. Skills- Zach Lay, Marcus Casassa, Tyler Meyer (1st Place); Sr. Chapter Conducting- Nole Oppermann, Coby Berger, Heather Mills, Haley Jatzlau, Nicole Koch, Landon Evans, Cody Morgan, (3rd Place) Fred Martin; Jr. Chapter Conducting- Karley Wren, Malissa Sanders, Aleece Moerbe, Sage Fields, Logan Meuth, Chase Hibbeler, Johna Alford (3rd Place); Ag Issues- Brandon Meyer, Casey Iselt, Emilie McManus, Lauren Walch, Kacee Letbetter (1st Place); Public Relations- Lakin Cass, Kaila Coolidge, Donnie Havard, Heather Mills (2nd Place); Radio- Courtney Jackson, Mason Vercera, Caity Holt (4th Place); Sr. Quiz- Nole Oppermann, Noe Araujo, Landon Evans (4th Place); Jr. Quiz- Karley Wren, Johna Alford, Malissa Sanders, Marcus Casassa (1st Place).

The top 2 teams went on to compete at the area 3 LDE contest held in Brenham. There were 6 teams that advanced.

Sr FFA Skills team placed 1st at area and went on to win the State LDE contest held in Huntsville.
