Giddings Police Report

January 11, 2010

At 7:54 a.m., Officers Hohertz and Ramirez were dispatched to TRAECO located at 2915 E. Austin in reference to a stolen trailer. Upon arrival, Officer Hohertz met with the complainant, Trae Anthony Urban, who advised that the last time the trailer was seen was Saturday, January 9, 2010. He also advised that it had to have been taken on this date sometime between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. The trailer has been entered into TCIC/ NCIC. Case under investigation.

January 11, 2010

At 9:34 a.m., Officers Ramirez and Hohertz were dispatched to Buc-ee’s at 2375 E. Austin to speak with a complainant in reference to theft of gas that occurred on Saturday, January 9, 2010. There was $70 of diesel that was pumped and not paid for. The actor was identified by a store clerk. Contact was made with the actor and arrangements had been made to pay for the diesel. The actor stated he used a credit card and thought it went through. Case closed.

January 11, 2010

At 3:13 p.m., Officers Ramirez and Hohertz were dispatched to Zoch’s Laundry located at 200 N. Burleson St. to meet with complainant, Evelyn Revetta in reference to her clothes being stolen out of the Laundromat. Upon arrival, she stated that she paid $11 to Sibyl Fisher to do her laundry. When Revetta returned to the Laundromat to pick up her clothes, half of them were missing. Case pending further investigation.

January 11, 2010

While on routine patrol, Officer Lehmann and Sgt. Ray were called at 7:43 p.m. to 413 E. Richmond for an attempted burglary. Window and screen were found open. Incident is under investigation.

January 12, 2010

At 9:22 a.m., Officer Ramirez met with a complainant, James Miller, at the Giddings Police Department in reference to five abandoned dogs. He stated that he was renting the residence at 709 N. Burleson to a subject. He stated that he had received rent from the tenants and went to the residence to collect. Miller stated that he tried the door and it was unsecured and at that time he noticed five dogs that were malnourished ran out the door. Officer Ramirez notified animal control and they met Ramirez and Miller at the residence and recovered four of the five dogs. Case is pending further investigation and criminal charges.

January 12, 2010

At 12:38 p.m., Lt. Harney received a call from dispatch in reference to a theft from Brookshire Brothers located at 513 E. Austin. The complainant, Mr. Tim Pitts, said approximately 25 minutes earlier, a Hispanic male and female posing as a service tech arrived at the store and said that they needed to service on the floor buffers. The Brookshire employee opened the back door and let them take the buffer outside to service it. Mr. Pitts later observed the couple loading the buffer into a U-Haul truck and leave the parking lot. Mr. Pitts called the company from which the buffer was leased. The vehicle could not be located. Case pending.

January 13, 2010

At 1:59 p.m., Officer Griffin and Det. Carvin responded to 202 Davis in reference to a verbal disturbance call-for-service. Bobby Joe Sowders of Giddings had been involved in a disagreement with his mother, Ina Ables Sowders, at the location. During the course of the investigation, Bobby provided false identifying information to Officer Griffin and was placed under arrest for Failure to Identify- Class B Misdemeanor and taken to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office and released.

January 14, 2010

At 6:19 p.m., Officer Spencer was dispatched to MJ’s Washateria located at 688 E. Austin in reference to a prior theft. Mark Muniz reported that a customer had a blanket stolen from one of the washing machines. The case is under investigation.

January 15, 2010

At 12:59 p.m., Officer Ramirez and Lt. Harney were dispatched to 471 Biscayne St. to speak with a complainant in reference to a terroristic threat. Upon arrival, complainants identified as Kayla Pampell and Jesse Hilderbrand stated that Hilderbrand’s exboyfriend, Sean Booth, became upset when he saw her driving around with another male subject. Pampell stated that Booth called her cell phone and threatened to shoot up her house if she did not tell him where Jesse was. Pampell stated that she disconnected with him on the phone and immediately called the police department. The complainants declined to pursue charges. Case closed.

January 15, 2010

While on routine patrol, Officer Lehmann, Officer Shepard and Sgt. Ray were called at approximately 9:38 p.m. to the 500 block of N. Titus St. for a Burglary of a Building. The storage room beside the house had been forcibly entered, items had been gone through, and a shotgun was taken. The incident is under investigation.

January 16, 2010

While on routine patrol, Officer Lehmann, Officer Shepard and Sgt. Ray initiated a routine traffic stop at the intersection of W. Brenham St. and N. Williamson St. at 3:05 a.m. During the course of the stop, Jason Charles James was arrested for a Parole Warrant and Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Jason Demond Willrich was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance and Driving While License Suspended or Invalid. Both parties were booked into the Lee County Jail.

January 16, 2010

At 6:45 a.m., Officer Spencer and Officer Ramirez were dispatched to America’s Best Value Inn, in reference to a disturbance. Prior to officers’ arrival, parties had separated with one of the parties walking west on E. Austin. Officer Spencer located the female who was identified as Patricia Garcia, who reported that she and her sister had gotten into an altercation while traveling from Austin to Houston. Garcia had a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from her person. She had slurred speech and was unsteady on her feet. Garcia was placed under arrest for Public Intoxication and transported to the Lee County Jail.

January 17, 2010

At 7:24 a.m., Officer Ramirez was dispatched to the Economy Inn Motel at 389W. Austin to assist EMS on a subject that was injured. Upon arrival, Officer Ramirez met with a male subject identified as Brian Moore who stated that his back was hurting. Officer Ramirez notified the Giddings Police Dispatcher that Moore was complaining of back pain. During the investigation, it was learned that he was involved in a fight inside the hotel room sometime during the night. Moore did not wish to pursue charges and was transported to St. Mark’s Hospital in LaGrange. Moore did not cooperate with information on the subjects that were at his hotel room. Case closed.
