Lady Eagles Drop Florence 42-28

The Lexington Lady Eagles captured their first district win with a 14-point defeat of Florence. Emilie Bell broke out of her scoring doldrums with a 12-point game. Eight Lady Eagles scored making the victory a truly team win. The Lady Eagles improved their free throw shooting percentage from 35% in Tuesday night’s loss to 56% in Friday’s win.
Lexington played a strong first half taking a 26-14 lead at halftime. Strong defense helped the Lady Eagles keep the lead after scoring only four-points in the third stanza. Scoring came back with a 12-point splurge in the fourth period to seal the game away. Lexington is now 1-4 in District 25- AA action with one game left, against Jarrell, in the first round.
The Lexington post trio of Angel Parks, Bell, and Veronica Richardson grabbed six, five, and four rebounds respectively.
