Lee County Health Expo

The 2010 Lee County Health Expo will be Thursday, January 28, in Giddings at the American Legion Hall on Hwy 77 South.

Admission is free. The Health Fair is opened to all citizens in and around Lee County. Doors will be open from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.

Health care professionals and other agencies will man resource booths offering a variety of information.

Screenings for cholesterol, glucose, blood pressure, oxygen saturation, body mass index and grip strength testing, as well as much more will be offered free to the public. Visitors will have an opportunity to measure body fat, test carbohydrate tolerance and grip strength.

Please note, some services offered at the Expo require a small fee and could require morning fasting. Please watch this news column for more information regarding screening requirements.

Information will also be available regarding Alzheimer and dementia, cancer awareness prevention and services, hospice services, home health care, bereavement services, family counseling, diabetes information, rehabilitation services and physical therapy.

The Lee County Health Expo is hosted by the Lee County office of Texas AgriLife Extension Service and Country CarePlex. The Expo will be a wonderful opportunity to check up on your health as well as learn more about health services available in our area.

Individuals with disabilities who plan to attend and who may need auxiliary aids, services, or accommodations must contact the Lee County Extension office five days prior to the event so that appropriate arrangements can be made.
