GIDDINGS LIBRARY NEWS CORNER

Since the hustle and bustle of Christmas is over, you should have time to stop by the Giddings Public Library to check out some books. The many Stuart Woods’ fans in the area will like Hothouse Orchid because it takes Holly Barker back to Orchid Beach, Florida, where she was once chief of police. This fast paced novel keeps Holly, supposedly on vacation, busy involved with changes and murder in her old police department.

Attorney Ben Kincaid is kept busy investigating a murder in William Bernhart’s latest,

Capitol Offense. This thrilling suspense novel involves a trial which brings forward suspicious activities in the police and lawyer departments.

Off-Street Parking by Bill James is a mystery that has a shocking and unexpected ending. Some other new books are The Branch And The Scaffold by Loren Estleman, Resurrecting Midnight by Eric Jerome Dickey, Road Dogs by Elmore Leonard, Homer And Langley by E.L. Doctoro, The Memory Collector by Meg Gardiner, and Last Night In Twisted River by John Irving.

In the non-fiction section can be found Freshwater Fishes Of Texas, which has a thorough description and useful information of Texas fishes that is put out by Texas A&M University Press. 1000 Home Ideas has over 750 color photographs and helpful information on home decorating

projects.
