Lady Eagles Drop District Opener
Lexington traveled to the north side of Lake Travis to open District 25-AA in Lago Vista. The Lady Vikings prevailed 41-39 in a game decided by the officials’ whistles. Lexington played a large portion of the game without coleading scorer Angel Parks, who was in foul trouble.
Lexington had trouble defending Lago Vista’s tall girls who consistently reached over and jumped on Lexington defenders. When a proper block out was placed on her, she merely reached over the Lexington player to get the rebound and put the ball back into the basket. Wolf did this for 21 points in the game. Wolf’s points were definitely the difference in the game.
Also, Lexington was unable to get any three-point shots to fall. With that threat removed, Lago was able to back down into the lane clogging up the lanes and stopping drives to the basket.
Veronica Richardson bagged five rebounds in the contest. Nicole Koch, Emilie Bell, and Parks each had four rebounds. Parks and Bell led the Lady Eagles in scoring with nine points each.
The Eagle JV also lost to Lago Vista 28-22 with McKenzie Brown and Johna Alford leading the way with seven points each.
