Lake Travis has now won 45 consecutive games. They are still 10 games short of Pflugerville’s 55-game streak back in the 60’s. No one seems to remember the Panthers’ streak, in fact they were not listed in the longest streaks in the state in one article.
The Cowboys are taking their annual December sleigh ride losing their first two games of the month and losing the lead in the NFC East. All the Boys’ recent sleigh rides have been down hill. If they finish the downhill trek this year, Coach Wade will be history here just like he was in Buffalo, Cleveland, and Denver. This year you can’t blame Tony Romo. The blame must go to Phillips’ 58-minute defense. (If you could eliminate two-minutes of defensive lapses in all the games, the Cowboys would be 12-1. They can not finish.
The Texas offensive line will probably get thank you cards from Mark Ingram for his Heisman Trophy. If the Horns O-line could have blocked three of the four Nebraska defensive linemen on every play, Colt McCoy would have won the award.
The Lexington basketball teams are fun to watch. They will be quite competitive this season in District 25-AA. The girls have already won more games than they did all last season. They should mark up some more wins as district progresses. Coaches Starnes and Tucker have the girls and guys hustling, passing the ball, and playing team basketball.
