Sports Thoughts

by Mike Organ

The Longhorns almost had one of those “I told you so” games but pulled it out with literally a last second field goal. Mack did not have the Horns ready to play and Nebraska was. The Longhorn offensive line was a joke. They looked like a Jr.Hi team trying to block a high school varsity. Colt McCoy, Jordan Shipley, and Hunter Lawrence are the reason Texas is going to play for #1. Please Horns, play like you should!!!!!!!

The Lady Eagle basketball team has more wins thus far than they did all last season. The young ladies have certainly improved. Have they improved enough to make a run for the playoffs in District 25AA? Only time and the scores will tell.

How long has it been since the Eagles and Lady Eagles played for the championship of a tourney on the same day?

The Cowboys continue to disappoint fans with their ability to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. This time it was not the mistakes of Tony Romo. The offensive line could not block; the special teams and defense could not tackle.

LHS ex E.J. Hawkins will be playing for Northwest Missouri State in the NCAA Division II national championship this weekend. Hawkins has been starting this season. This will be NMS’s fifth consecutive year in the final, which is a record. Hawkins has been there for all five if you include his redshirt year.
