Lady Eagles Quiet Mumford
Lexington improved to 4-3 for the young 2009-10 season with a 26-24 win over the Mumford Mares. Lexington used a stall for nearly two minutes in the fourth quarter to preserve the win. The Lady Eagles used their ball handling skills to keep Mumford at bay. Lexington failed to score in the fourth period but withheld the ball from Mumford to earn the win.
Lexington had balanced scoring and played good team ball to earn the win. Angel Parks, Emilie Bell, and Deja Griffin were the leading scorers with seven, six, and five points respectively. Many of the scores were the result of excellent entry passes to the shooter.
Lexington’s 10-point second quarter, where they established a four point lead, proved the be the key to the entire game.
Lexington’s stall game also prevented Mumford from scoring in the fourth quarter as the visitor could only bank two points in the quarter.
Megan Scantlin keyed the Lady Eagle JV girls to a 36-19 win. Scantlin scored 16 points in the JVG win. Johna Alford tossed in 10-points in the game for Lexington.
