Sheriff ’s Report

November 30, 2009

A motorist reported several cows out on FM 2440. Deputy Durrenberger was dispatched and put the cows up and notified the owner.

Deputy Easley put up donkeys that were out on Doak Springs Road. The owner could not be located.

Deputy Ray and Deputy Lapham served several civil papers.

December 1, 2009

A complainant spoke to Deputy York regarding guns that were stolen from his house. A report was made and the case is still under investigation.

Several motorists reported that a vehicle was in the ditch on Hwy 21 East. Deputy Carvin was first on the scene and reported to dispatch that a wrecker was already on the way and there was no property damage.

The Sheriff’s Office received a call from an alarm company advising of a burglar alarm at a local business. Deputy Carvin checked the building and reported that it was secure. The owner was notified.

Deputy Robertson and Deputy Easley were dispatched to an accident on Hwy 290 West. The driver was not injured. A wrecker was requested.

December 2, 2009

The Sheriff’s Office received a call from B&M ambulance requesting a deputy and Justice of the Peace for an inquest on CR 101. Deputy Robertson and Deputy Ray assisted at the scene.

An anonymous caller reported a suspicious vehicle parked near the dumpsters at Westwood Villa apartments. Three white males got out of the vehicle and headed into the wooded area behind the complex. Deputy York was dispatched and located the males who advised they were just looking for their lost dog.

Deputy Aderhold was dispatched to put up a horse that was loose on FM 141 approx 2 miles north of Giddings.

December 3, 2009

Deputy York transported 14 inmates to District Court. Two subjects were ordered jail time and transported and booked into jail.

A caller reported a vehicle on CR 116 that appeared to have been in an accident. Deputy Lapham responded and advised that the driver wrecked the vehicle last night and went to stay with a friend.

A resident reported a suspicious black vehicle parked on the side of Hwy 21 at CR 426. As she passed by the vehicle turned its lights out. Deputy Robertson and Deputy Aderhold were dispatched to check out the vehicle.

December 4, 2009

Bastrop County requested assistance from our agency. Deputy Aderhold was asked to check a residence and see if there was a black goose neck trailer parked outside. There was no trailer but one subject at the scene had warrants out of Harris County and was arrested.

Deputy Ray met with a complainant at the Lexington Police Dept. After speaking to the subject it was determined to be a civil matter.

A motorist reported cows out on Hwy 77 North just past the Blue Moon. Deputy Lapham put up the cows and had dispatch notify the owner that the fence needed repairing.

The Sheriff’s Office received a 9-1-1 call and the background noise sounded suspicious. Deputy Carvin was dispatched and spoke to a man who claimed he did not call 9-1-1. The residence was checked and everyone was okay.

December 5, 2009

A caller requested to speak with a deputy regarding harassing phone calls. Caller spoke to Deputy Easley and advised that she had received numerous calls from a number that she does not recognize. A report was taken and investigation continues.

Deputy Aderhold was dispatched to a disturbance out on CR 132. A mother called and reported her son was acting crazy running around the house yelling that he sees dead people. Subject was leaving the residence and headed back to Houston.

Deputy Lapham assisted DPS Trooper Thorp at the scene of an accident on CR 233. A vehicle ran off the roadway and struck a telephone pole.

A female requested to report her truck stolen and file charges against her ex boyfriend because he used her truck without permission to go get boxes because he was moving out. Deputy Crockett was on his way when dispatch advised that the caller did not wish to pursue any charges because he brought the truck back.

A resident on CR 401 requested that a deputy speak to a neighbor who continuously drives at a high rate of speed recklessly down the road. The caller stated that his daughter was nearly struck by this vehicle while she was walking their dog. Deputy Lapham responded and spoke to the reckless driver.

An anonymous caller reported suspicious vehicles at the car wash in Dime Box. Deputy Carvin and Deputy Aderhold responded. A close patrol will be in effect.

December 6, 2009

Deputy Ray was dispatched to FM 2440 approx 5 miles out to put up several cows that were out.

A caller reported cows out on CR 216 @ FM 448. The caller was upset and advised dispatch who the cows belonged to and advised that the cows continuously get out. Deputy Crockett was dispatched.

Deputy Durrenberger and Deputy Carvin attempted to locate a reckless driver that was heading southbound on FM 141 from Dime Box.

A motorist reported that an 18 wheeler struck a cow on FM 141 @ CR 123. Deputy Carvin assisted at the scene and made sure the roadway was clear.

In the Month of November the Lee County Dispatchers answered 254 calls for service.
