Giddings Police Report

November 30, 2009

At 11:11 a.m., Officer Ramirez was dispatched to the intersection of S. Leon St. and E Cuero St. to meet with a City of Giddings employee in reference to Criminal Mischief. The words “SOUTH SIDE” were spray painted along the street curbing, and some profane words were also spray painted. The paint was orange spray paint. Photos were taken and downloaded to the case file. Case pending further investigation.

December 1, 2009

At 8:05 a.m., Officer Shepard and Officer Ramirez were dispatched to 655 W. Houston in reference to an unwanted guest in the home. Upon arrival, Officer Shepard met with the subject, Shadrach Lee Haywood, who stated that he was invited by Marque Martin to the residence. Karen Wade, the owner of the property, stated that she did not want him at her residence anymore and Shadrach was issued a Criminal Trespass Warning and advised the he is no longer to come onto the property.

December 1, 2009

At 10:18, Officer Shepard was advised by dispatch that criminal mischief had taken place at the 500 block of N. Williamson, Orsag’s Furniture Warehouse. Upon arrival, he observed black spray paint on the west side of the wall with the symbols “EC” and the ”E” with an arrow at the top of the wall with miscellaneous markings. This case is under investigation.

December 1, 2009

At 11:14 a.m., Officer Shepard was dispatched to Brookshire Brothers in reference to a counterfeit bill that had been passed. Upon arrival, he met with Reva Fritcher who stated that when she received her change, she received a counterfeit $10.00 bill that had been passed right before her. This case is still pending investigation.

December 2, 2009

While on routine patrol, Officer Lehmann, Sgt. Ray, and Officer Connolly were dispatched at 3:16 a.m. to a report of a wanted person. Terry Roy Roemer was arrested for a Parole Warrant and Possession of a Controlled Substance and booked into the Lee County Jail.

December 2, 2009

At 7:00 a.m., Officer Spencer was dispatched to 2161 E. Hempstead in reference to a prior theft. Chuck Crider is the project manager for the three story hotel that is under construction. Crider reported that several pallets of building material were stolen during the night. The case is currently under investigation.

December 4, 2009

At 11:22 p.m., Sgt Ramsey conducted a traffic stop on a truck that was speeding in the 1600block of W. Austin. The driver was identified as Fernando Mora and the passenger was identified as Victor Mora. Both subjects were placed under arrest for possession of marijuana and transported to the LCSO.

December 5, 2009

While on routine patrol, Officer Lehmann, Sgt. Ray and Sgt. Ramsey, at approximately 4:00 a.m. in the 1100 block of S. Leon, cited Byron Dean Davis and Zachery Kyrell Graves for Possession of Marijuana, class B.

December 5, 2009

At 9:48 p.m., Officer Griffin initiated a traffic stop in the 700 block of S. Caldwell. The driver, Rolando Garcia Campos of Giddings, was placed under arrest for Possession of Marijuana and Driving While License Invalid/ Suspended. He was taken to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office and released.

December 6, 2009

At approximately 1:00 a.m, Officer Griffin initiated a traffic stop in the 900 block of N. Caldwell. The driver, Dusty Silva Buscha of Giddings, was cited for Furnishing Alcohol to a Minor. The front passenger, Amanda Marie Christianson of Giddings, was cited for Minor in Possession- Alcohol. The back passenger, Steven Cardenas Segura of Giddings, was cited for having an Open (Alcoholic) Container in a vehicle.

December 6, 2009

At 10:49 a.m., Officer Ramirez and Officer Hohertz met with a complainant at the Giddings Police Department in reference to telephone harassment. Complainant, Johnny VanWinkle stated that he had been receiving numerous text messages from a male subject and the text messages were inappropriate. VanWinkle wished to pursue charges and provided a statement. Case is pending further investigation.

December 6, 2009

At 7:39 p.m., Officer Griffin initiated a traffic stop for a violation occurring at the S. Polk/ E.Hempstead intersection. The driver, Brent Carlton Hill of Warda, was cited/released for Driving While License Invalid/Suspended.

December 6, 2009

At 10:54 p.m., Officer Griffin initiated a traffic stop in the 400 block of E. Austin. The driver, Edgar Eloy Puente-Ovalle of Austin, was placed under arrest for a Driving While Intoxicated warrant out of Travis County.
