Mozelle White was born October 28, 1915 in Palestine, Texas to Walter and Viola (Walston) Broughton. She was a graduate of Elkhart High School and Nixon Business College.
On November 2, 1937, she and Bernard White were married in Palestine. They had two daughters.
Mozelle was employed for many years and retired from Rockdale High School as the prinicpal’s secretary. She was a member of St. John’s United Methodist Church in Rockdale.
Mozelle passed away Sunday, November 29, 2009 in Huntsville where she has lived the past two years. She reached the age of 94. Mozelle was preceded in death by her husband Bernard on June 30, 1985. Their daughter, Annice Scurlock. Her parents. Brother, H.V. Broughton and sister, Iris Elizabeth Broughton.
Surviving; Daughter, Dorothy Kyle and husband Scotty of Huntsville. Son-in-law, Bill Scurlock and wife Barbara of Rockwall. Brother, Walter LaRoy Broughton of Palestine. Sister, Naomi Nerren of Nacogdoches. Five grandchildren, Shannon Murdock and husband Ben of Huntsville, Kenneth Kyle and wife Jennifer of Huntsville, Jennifer Auringer and husband Jon of Rockwall, Julie Dobiyanski and husband Stuart of Lindale and Stephen Clay Scurlock of Lindale. Four great grandchildren, Logan Murdock, Nicole Auringer, Cody Dobiyanski, Clay Dobiyanski and many nieces and nephews.
Graveside services, were on Wednesday, December 2, 2009 in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Rockdale.
