Milton Roy Mersiovsky
Milton Roy Mersiovsky was born on October 28, 1926 in Serbin, Texas to Carl Robert & Hulda (Symm) Mersiovsky. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII and obtained the rank of Private First Class before receiving his Honorable Discharge on May 25, 1946. He was united in marriage to Elaine Menzel on August 30, 1975 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Serbin. Milton was a trim carpenter and construction supervisor in Houston for many years before moving back to Serbin where he was active in ranching. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Serbin where he had served on the school board and as a trustee. Milton enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Mr. Mersiovsky passed away Friday morning at his home in Serbin.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Harry Mersiovsky and Monroe Mersiovsky.
Milton is survived by his wife, Elaine Mersiovsky of Serbin; two children, Justin & Andrea Mersiovsky of Carrollton and Kari & Russell Kappler of Serbin; father in-law, Herman Menzel of Serbin; sister-in-law, Gertrude Mersiovsky of Giddings; two brother-in-laws, Eugene & Lorna Menzel of Kenner, Louisiana and Donald Menzel of Serbin as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were on Monday, December 7, 2009 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Serbin with Rev. John Schmidt officiating. Burial followed in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the St. Paul Lutheran Church Restoration Fund or to the charity of one’s choice.
