Dorothy M. (Dobraski) Skolaut
Dorothy was born on June 3, 1935 to Henry & Verna (Ripkowski) Dobraski in New Waverly, Texas. She attended and graduated from St. Agnes Academy in Houston, Texas. Dorothy married Richard Skolaut, her husband of 55 years, on January 15, 1955 at the Assumption Catholic Church in Houston.
Dorothy passed away early Friday morning after a short illness at St. Mark’s Medical Center in La Grange.
She had a lot of friends and family that loved her dearly and will miss her much.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Henry J. Dobraski and sister and brotherin law, Irene & Bobby Morgan.
She is survived by her husband, Richard Skolaut of Ledbetter; 3 children, Wanda & husband, Allen Anderson of Splendora, Texas, Douglas & wife, Judy Skolaut of Lexington, Texas and Gary Skolaut of Willis, Texas; 8 grandchildren, Rocky Anderson, Lacy Cranston, Randy Anderson, Tabitha Skolaut, Clay Anderson, Holly Newton, Ashley Skolaut and Abby Skolaut and 8 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were on Monday, December 7, 2009 at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Giddings with Father Jim Olnhausen officiating. Burial followed in the Ledbetter Cemetery in Ledbetter.
Serving as pallbearers were Rocky Anderson, Randy Anderson, Clay Anderson, David Morgan, Jeremy Cranston and Chase Newton. Honorary pallbearers were her great grandsons, Jordan Cranston, Rocky Anderson, Tyler Anderson, Coy Dube and Aiden Newton.
