From the Mayor’s Desk
The Lexington City Council met in Regular Session on Tuesday, December 8th, 2009. Items on the agenda included discussion and approval of the Telecommunications Service Agreement with Reveille Broadband; discussion of the proposed contract with Blue Water/Cross County Water; discussion with David Boettcher of the Boettcher Construction Services, Inc.bid to retop Shaw St.; discussion of the proposal to raise water rates to go into water well escrow account.
Other issues for discussion were approval of giving donated money from the Chocolate Festival to the Chamber of Commerce; selling the 560 gallon gas tank at Rudy Mayer Auction; and further discussion of the proposed re-topping of Shaw Street (Cemetery Road) from Ave. C to the curve before the cemetery.
There was discussion of a report from Chief Davenport regarding the hiring of a new police officer. The council then went into Executive Session to deliberate the appointment, employment, evaluation, reassignment, duties, discipline or dismissal of a public officer of employee, or to hear a complaint or charges against an officer of employee, in accordance the Texas Government Code Section 551.001. The council then re-convened into regular session.
Following Financial/Budget report, Police report and a report on the New City Hall by Tony Tavary and Lori Barnikow, the meeting was adjourned.
