Lexington Soars Over Thrall

by Mike Organ

The Eagles blasted the Thrall Tigers 54-26 Tuesday night in Lexington. Kaelan Blok led the Eagle scoring with 11-points. Lexington ran out to a fast 19-5 in the first period. The lead could have been much more had Lexington been able to convert their lay ups. Lexington stole the ball 10 or more times in the first period alone but was unable to convert all the steals into points. The hustling, trapping, press the Eagles employ puts enormous pressure on the opponents ball handling skills.

The second quarter saw no relief for Thrall from the relentless pressure the Eagles applied all over the court. Coach Tucker utilizes all 12 players on the team. He is constantly rotating players into the game so the players are always fresh and ready to play defense.

Coach Tucker wants the players to show a little more team work on offense. He will work on that area before playing Mumford Tuesday. Mumford is just a few years away from being a K-8 school. Mumford is state ranked in Class A.
